Im buying my new shotgun, so i might not get my turbo put on until next paycheck. (june 7th), but i might get it put on this one if i have enough money, then you can pick and choose what you need from the old setup.

I need a Dejon 4" intake pipe to 2g mas and a catback exhaust if anyone has one let me know. I was probably going to get the dejon catback set so that i can just make it work with the muffler i have and a testpipe/cat combo.
What a coincidence, I have a dejon 4" intake to 2g mas that doesn't fit the 14b. It has a BOV tube in the stock location and one breather nipple on the side. It'll be a while before I need any IC pipes since I still have to rebuild the tranny, wait for the new clutch to show up, and take care of a few other loose ends.
 
Well let me know what you want to do. Im going to be ordering the catback set from dejon unless Brian tstkl wants to sell me his for cheap... and if im ordering it then i'll want to order my intake pipe at the same time to save on shipping.
Also, i think im going to pick up some 1150's from MAPerformance since they have the sale right now.

I also want to get my damn shotgun already!!! i cant decide which one to get, should i get the mid grade model or the high end model!!!??? ahhh the choices. Damn i have too many hobbies!

Yesterday went awsome! I was expecting to break into the 13's for the first time with my new set up and i almost made 12's. I ran a 13.27 @ 101.58 on a small 16g, 22 psi, 91 pump w/ lucas additive. I was thinking get a 100 oct. race gas tune and may be!?! 12.9!?!:D
 
what were your 60ft times? I would think you would have went faster at 22psi. Thats a good MPH for the time though.

Just for comparison sake, i went 13.7 at 10psi, 12.99 at 15psi, and 12.81 at 18psi on my small 16g. All about 1.8 60ft times except the 12.8 i think was a 1.77


anyways congrats for getting out there and having fun with a new setup, and thanks for keeping the thread alive! I want to get out to the track so badly, but I need to do some work on my car first. (manifold to turbo gasket blew, hot exhaust gas fried the alternator) and i need some tuning time.

My 60' was 1.861, maybe my tune wasn't on point? No wait a minute, I know my tune could of been better. Its just the best that i've ran with the time that i had. I just installed DSMLink two weeks ago and have been lerning how to play around with it. also i'm bumpin an automatic so i expect to be just a little bit behind you manual guys at this point.

With all things being equal what do you guys think is better for power?... less boost and more timing or more boost and less timing? Right now i'm @22psi, 10.8-11.0 A/F, and pulling timing, with peak knock@2deg. after shifts and zeroing out about 6200 rpm.

That's a good 60' time, you're doing something right.

Boost makes more power than timing, up to a certain point. The limit depends on things like the capacity of the intercooler, efficiency of the turbo, and the octane of the gas. Even then, there isn't a solid limit that defines when boost makes less power than timing.

If you want to reduce the knock, try adding a little fuel only where knock begins, or where knock increases. There's no way to get knock to go down faster with DSMLink. Ideally, the A/F ratio can be richer at torque peak, which is around 4k rpm on a 16g. HTH

There is probably more to be had in your tune, as there always is. Thats a good time though! Listen to all Dave (pneumo's) advice, he was the guy tuning for me when i ran those times. I did have to drive the car though, so i did my part! haha

Which pinks? All out or a vs. battle between 2 cars?
 
Thread revival!

Heads up, I'm going out to Infineon next Wed. Sept 3.
I'm really, really, REALLY hoping to hit an 11 on a 14b this time.

I was so close last Wed. First run was 12.4@108 in 98 degree air temps.
2nd run was 12.105 @109.8 with a nice 1.63 60' time. Still 98 degree airtemp with 115 to 135 intake temps.
3rd run was 12.043 @110.2 with a personal best 60' time of 1.61 Airtemps were still roasting.
4th run had cooler airtemps and the run was better, 12.010 @111 with a slower 1.69 60' time.
5th run had much cooler airtemps. I was positive that I'd hit an 11 on that run! I was so excited!
Except I forgot about the Human Factor.
In other words, I phuct up! LOL
I got too anxious on the line, too trigger happy. As soon as the first yellow lit up I accidentally bumped the clutch a little. I pushed the clutch back in quickly, but the car was rolling. Slowly. It was like a race between the lights counting down and my car creeping forward. I dumped the clutch as soon as I saw the redlight come on, trying to make the best of it.
12.07 @112.6mph with a slow 1.81 60' time.

So next week I'll gut the car and take out about 90 pounds of stuff, get a better mix of racegas, and see if I can tweak the tune a little better.

My last two runs were at 7 and 8 PM, so I think if you get there before 7 you'll see at least one run. Maybe more if I don't break out. Bracket racing keeps going until around 9PM, that's when the racing gets really close.
