went to the track yesterday and had a good time.

helped out a fellow DSM guy w/ his 12 sec. GSX (or TSi?) cant really remember coz his car was all blacked out. he needed to borrow some tools so I lend him a couple.

aite, peace.

So how'd you do?

ahh, nothing spectacular. did a best of 13.6 @ 99 mph (letting off) w/ a 1.88 60 ft. on my old MKIII Supra w/ stock turbo.

aite, peace.

at least you didn't put on the brakes before you hit the finish line only to run a 14.0

HAHAHAHAHA mahesh, Im still giving you shit for that

nice run, but i still dont underdstand why anyone needs brakes at infineon... its uphill, just downshift and you'll slow down, take the 2nd turn.

I usually accelerate way past the 1/4 mile mark! haha then i do need the brakes though...

not all of us can run 10's dave, what were you trapping at for those times again? I know edwin hit 127 on his 11.1 iirc. I should use my vr-4 brakes as an excuse to get out to the track to test them out, LOL. Maybe if I get this 20g set up tuned and running moderate boost I'll finally be able to get some decent times down. The new set up will be a lot faster than before, so if I don't put down some halfway decent times this time around, we know Im just a horrible driver, LOL

well i mean you dont have to break right away, as in as you cross the lights your like "oh shit i better break or i'll run out of room!!"
You have time to get clear through the finish line and then let off and brake and downshift and whatnot...

Whats this news about the 20g brian? I can never keep up with your build!!! is that just a temp turbo setup while you build your motor and monster setup?

will be back at Infineon next week. see you DSM'ers there!

well, after I bought my conquest I thought to myself, like any experienced tuner should, what are my long term goals for this car? In short, I want the car to be able to out perform a c5 z06 in every sense of the word. So I kept my eye out for a 20g/50trim size turbo. Found one for 275 shipped. I figured, if its blown, I'll rebuild it and have a new 20g for 700 ish. Then I was putting the talon back together for smog, and since my smog guy doesn't care about visuals, I said what the hell, lets do it. The conquest had a brand new evo 3 16g off the mirage on it, and it didn't seem like I would be building a 4g63 for it anytime soon, so the 20g got slapped on the talon. Then the motor in the conquest blew. Now I have a bunch of parts that were for the conquest on the talon and the conquest needs a new motor. Most likely the talon will be getting the evo 3 16g and stock smic with stock intake manifold and maf, while the conquest will get the 20g, evo 8 maf, dsmlink, fmic, and forrester smim (all of which are currently on the talon). This way one of my cars will be done (power wise) once the new motor is done. I'll probably spin it to 8.5k and run a mild tune. Im hoping for 300 rwhp on pump gas on fftecs dyno. Then I need to focus on handling and transmission mods for that car and it will be done.

Im going to have to pull a dave on you guys here though,

I think the talon will run tomorrow...

fmb, it wouldn't idle. Im back in SLO, #### me

My car is still running after the trip to Sac,
I think I'll try my luck at Infineon tomorow. Maybe I can break the 11.5 barrier? If I can run 11.49 I can claim to run 'low 11's' on a 14b!

Anyone else want to come out?
There's plenty of people asking me for vids, maybe someone can come out for a couple hours to take a few vids?

hey guys, some dude w/ a talon left the track on a flatbed tow truck. I wondered what happened. is it someone from here?

what color was it?

i hope there wasnt a jinx in the post below... doesnt look like one anywhere, but there could be an underlying jinx. Im going to need a second opinion on this... Brian where u at? you seem to be able to spot the jinxes about as good as me... ha

its like a greenish/light silver color 1G talon. I saw it at the track and he was parked not too far from me. from the looks of it, the car is still running the stock turbo (I just looked from a distance) and it has a pretty decent size FMIC painted black.

I was there, but when I was pulling the car off the trailer the clutch pedal was feeling funny. I tried bleeding the clutch system for shits and giggles, and turned out the clutch pedal took a dump on me. I guess my car is allergic to infineon or something.

Im about to tear the SOB out, and figure out a way to fix it, or just make my own damn clutch pedal. I am so :(

I wish I could've stayed but I just put it back on the trailer and called it a night. What were the results for you guys? better times???

Ha, yeah that was me on the flatbed. The alternator took a dump on me. Luckily I managed to squeeze a little more speed from my car, the 14b still has more in it. I went 11.514@ 118

KBR, was that you in the turbo Supra? That car sounded strong.

turbodsm90, sorry to hear about your car troubles. It would've been great to see a ten second DSM there.

oh so it was you! well, good thing you only had minor troubles on the car. and yes that was me on the old Supra turbo. too bad I only had 1 practice run since I had to go to WORKS and get our Eclipse dynoed, thus making me miss 2 practice runs. which really sucked since I couldnt dial in my 60' down. a 2.0 - 2.2 60' is bad!

dave, should have picked up a spair while you were at my place the other night. All my shit is quality OEM stuff, none of that BS kragen stuff. Lifetime warrenty is nice, but if you have to keep pulling the damn thing on and off to get it replaced, its not really worth it.

I won't be back in the bay for a while, I've got my baby and shes starting to almost run right, LOL

I'm still randomly getting EXCESSIVE knock at low load partcial throttle, so I wouldn't say its anywhere near perfect, and the alarm keeps going off randomly, so this isn't really a jinx, but after I finish tuning and replace the tensioner/timing belt/ bs belt, all the seals in the front case, the car should be rather reliable.

The sending unit for my fuel cell works, but the gauge I bought isn't for some reason,..

haha, i took a ride home from infineon in a flatbed once... when my damn rear end blew!
I have alstate towing service and i think i still had to pay some money! mofo dsm! i hate u

On another note, i wrapped my o2 housing today. I did it with the housing in the car so it was kind of janky, but it should help for the time being.
I drove the car around the rest of the day and the voltage wasnt spot on 14v, it would go a little low at stoplights, but when i was driving it was charging at 14. We'll see what happens from here. Hopefully its good, if not, i might relocate it to where the ac was.
Can anybody reccommend a alternator relocation kit? Should i do the saturn alternator swap while im in there?

The flatbed ride was $300. My insurance will cover some of it, and the Kragen alternator came with roadside assistance policy, so they cover part of the cost, too. I got an alternator relocation kit about a year ago. It sat on the shelf until I realized that I didn't need it. My alt was fine, I always use heat wrap, no massive stereo, no problem. So I sold it a couple months ago. I guess that was a bad idea. Maybe that was the jinks that caught up to me, a long distance jinks.

From what I hear the Saturn alternators are a good upgrade. I haven't looked into it much, but now that I'm 'properly motivated' :) I'm going to take a closer look. I'm also going to the junkyard next week, maybe I'll grab a couple spares while I'm there.
