YOu should edit that out, and then start a new thread with the info so its easy to find as it will be in one place! that would be the best idea to get all that great info in one easy to find place. Title it sac raceway 08 or something! Thanks for the info though!

Who else can make it? My car seems to be running well, so I should be able to put down some impressive times on the new setup.

I'd like to make it, but my damn dump tube broke off so im not going to replace it until i put in my new turbo setup.
 
dave, you must tell us, is it the hta? I'll be kinda depressed if it is, thats the exact turbo I want to get. First I want a gt35r, and you get that, then you hta it before I manage to get my hta.

I want my hot tight ass too, its not fair.... LOL
 
HTA?!? DAM, why didn't I think of that?!? I bet it would have a much better top end.

BTW I just passed smog check. (hint, hint) :)
 
Change of plans, I can't make it after all.

I went out to practice launching tonight and I burned up the clutch pretty bad. I was just getting in the groove again! But now it's making horrible metalic scraping noises when I let out the pedal. I guess a years worth of abuse took it's toll. Oh well, I didn't really like that clutch anyway.
 
Does it sound like my car does sometimes dave? Ive so, pull the trans and let me know what the problem is so i can know too haha!

Too bad about that i wanted to see how much faster you would have gone than my car with the 16g and full supporting mods. ha

Nah, it sounds like a grinding wheel against a cheese grater when I let the clutch out. I'm curious to see the damage, is the disc worn down to the rivets? Or are the rivets ground off and it's riding on the metal backing?
 
yep, twin disc ftw.
Although I'm tempted to just throw in my old clutch. It wasn't even half used up, I still had it in my closet. It's a 2100 pp with a sprung 6 puck disc, the same clutch I ran with the 14b last time. :) See? it's tempting.
But then I'd just have to do another clutch job again in a few weeks.
 
Yeah, you've done your 14b job, unless you really want to go for it again... i would just have fun with the gt35. But that new gearset and the DR's could get you on top with the 14b!!!

I crushed my 16g goals when my damn dump tube fell off, now the s258 goes on and im going to have fun with that. I just wish i grew some balls earlier and actually ran my 16g where its at right now (18-20psi) for longer instead of 10psi FOREVER like i did.. haha. At least it was a 13 sec car at 10psi!

because dave is known to give up on something and just go bigger,... thats why he ran 11's in the 14b...
 
So here's what I'm thinking. I already have BFG drag radials sitting here, the evo3 gears are already on the way from TRE (taller first gear, double syncro 3rd +4th), next comes the lightweight wheels, and a twin disc clutch ( which will let me launch it like I want to and not burn up the clutch). It all adds up to a better launch, less rotating weight, and quicker shifting. If I run the 14b again I should be able to run a faster time.

And if I borrow Danny's IC pipes to mount my big fmic, toss in 1k injectors, maybe a 7cm housing, I might be able to knock it outta the ballpark.

Maybe I can beat GRNDSM's 14b time of 11.64 @116mph? It could be within reach. If things go my way I could pull off a hat trick, win the triple crown. Really stormin the beaches! nuthin but net! ya know what I mean? Like I'm gonna be

Danny, Dave, you guys remember when the track workers walked out on the track after one of my runs? I think I found out what they might have been looking for - after that day I've heard a rattle from the exhaust. I opened it up today and the insides of my cat have been blown through the rest of the exhaust. There was a lot of chunks of it in my resonator as well as a solid fist sized piece that was wedged in there. I probably spit out a chunk of catalyst on to the track on my 1-2 shift.

I'll get it replaced before my next smog check, but do any of you guys think that I should not run a cat on track days? I'm just wondering if this was just a freak thing or if it's something that I should expect with a new cat after a few open track days too (I did 3 on this fairly new cat).
 
dave, what piping do you need? The J-pipe, or the UICP too? Whatever i can do to help just let me know.

I think you should do it too! you just smogged so you have 2 years to have fun with the gt35, get that 14b record knocked out then max out that gt 35!!!



Im buying my new shotgun, so i might not get my turbo put on until next paycheck. (june 7th), but i might get it put on this one if i have enough money, then you can pick and choose what you need from the old setup.

I need a Dejon 4" intake pipe to 2g mas and a catback exhaust if anyone has one let me know. I was probably going to get the dejon catback set so that i can just make it work with the muffler i have and a testpipe/cat combo.
