ECMlink 02 Cycling?

Car is a 90 BONESTOCK M/T laser. Swapped pins 6&14 as a result of running a 91-94 ECU. I'm trying to dial the car in with no ECMLINK experience, not sure if I'm missing something but the 02 does not seem to be cycling like it should. Can someone look the log over?

Enable idle switch operation and enable tps adjustments to get your tps to 0.63 volts at idle. Idle should be set to around 800. Do that and check back.

You'll note that the ECU never tries to enter closed loop during the log.

I wouldn't mess with the time map until you get the basics functioning correctly. Reset it, you can get the values back from an old log.

The ECU should attempt to enter closed loop once the coolant > 87F. Log the baro sensor, enable the idle switch, drop the idle to normal from the 1k you have set, and get a log from cold start and another from hot start. We need to see the first 20 seconds after the coolant going over 87F along with a bit before to see if the ECU tries and fails to enter closed loop.

I wonder why it is locked in comm in ECMLink mode. I do see the front o2 cycling, but small cycles. I see NO short term or Combined fuel trims in the log. I would also change the boost gauge to register knock not battery. I also see that you should change your Global Fuel to -7.8 if you have stock injectors (450cc).
Check those things out, grab another log and report back.

The default is to lock in ECMLink mode to speed the communications handshake.
While the O2 voltage changes a bit it never cycles and the ECU never goes into closed loop in that log which is a requirement for the normal O2 cycling in it's attempt to track 14.7:1

I don't follow the suggestion to change the global? With stock fuel pressure and stock injectors you should leave it at 100%

Well Steve, the "stock" setting showed up as what is the suggested setting for 415cc injectors which I just figured might be for a stock automatic car. That was why I suggested it. In my experiences, if I get the AF's close on global, the o2 sensor would try to start cycling. I "thought" maybe if I got his global close enough, the sensor would start its cycle, that was my "thinking" anyway. Not that it is right , I just noticed when I put in 450 cc at 43.5 psi and 14.7 stoich, the return on the calculator was that -7.8 (from the injector calculator on the fuel tab).

I assume you're talking about the Global Fuel Adjustment popup. Keep in mind there is some weirdness with the DSMLink client if you use the calculate popup due to it defaulting to different base fuel pressures.. Mine shows 450cc injectors @ 37.0 psi as a 0.0 % global fuel with his log.

That explains it. I sure didnt mean to give out a bad piece of advice. I didn't take in to acct the lower stock pressure for stick cars
I'm sure if I reloaded it mine would say the same.

On my car tonight, I wasn't getting a O2 swing (tuning is starting) but after I played with my global (made it a bit richer) it started cycling. Dialed in CFT and STFT to almost zero and called it good. Of course I had to play with deadtime a little but its hovering right around 0 so I feel I can move on with my tuner.
I felt like my "hillbilly" tune wasn't near good enough.
