I haven't brought a 4G car to the shootout in 15 years; I live 7 hours away and I still wouldn't miss it!

Not having to worry about your DSM and actually enjoy the event.....Zero actual downsides to that plan.

Its AOK to be a spectator!!

Even if you can't make a multi-day vacation; there isn't another show like this!!!

Hit the ATM, get outta town; "someday" is coming up next weekend!!!!

Summit Motorsports Park has a massive parking lot where your boring, normal car will blend right in.

When you are surrounded by the sights and sounds; you'll understand.

100% agree. Just being there at all is worth it to me.
Im happy just watching everyone else run their cars, talking with vendors, meeting folks from here and making memories with my daughter. Picking up well priced used parts is also a huge plus
Ive never been to anything else like Shootout

We should. 16 hour drive tho....:toobad::toobad::toobad:
We need about 5 guys and rent an rv

I'm 13h each way and have done it 10 times now, it's not that bad.

Unfortunately this year will not be one of them, things just not working out on my end, too little time and work too busy.
I would never have thought it would grow like this. My first Shootout was 96 and if I remember it was 88 cars.

Locked up and headed out thursday morning in my daily to meet my friends with dsm, getting towed. This year he isnt making it hes head to germany but goal get it to run on stand alone. Everything should go as planned. Plan to meet up with some dsmers from detroit to meet on the toll road .

For those who haven't left yet, let me know if you want me to create a QR code sign for you to print out and display next to your car:

I’m definitely interested in that.

My first Shootout you guys were staying at the Inn on the lake (I have pictures somewhere). I drove my 90 Mirage EXE there 10-11 hours one way with no ac in the summer (also did it the next 2 years). I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. The first smells as I arrived Friday night were what I’ve been missing for years. Like walking into a random grandmas house and feeling at home. Also caught Dan @TRC with the Colt one year going to the lanes while I was checking tires. Just a couple days left 🤙
