Does anyone have a moroso baffled pan installed in a 1G and had clearance issues with the cross member? I attached a picture with the general area I’m talking about I didn’t get a picture with the cross member attached. But I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and what you might have done to correct it or solve this issue.

There are two crossmembers. Are you accidently mixing them up?

I don’t think they can go in the wrong spot the bolts don’t line up the one towards the passenger side has 3 bolts at the front of the car and the driver side has 2 bolts at the front. I went out and got some more pictures for reference and attached them to the original post

Put a Paul Volk Metalcraft (@99gst_racer ) 3 piece tube front on it and problem should be solved. They take up a LOT less room. I have them on 2 of the 3 DSM's I have. :thumb:

yeah I’ve looked at that route but they are out of stock on his website and have been all year. I emailed them back in like march they said they have been busy and haven’t had time to make any. It’s now December I’ve kinda lost hope on that route

You could always make your own tube there. Its not a complicated part or trim your crossmember down or press it flatter. Just some ideas. I hate to tell you to dimple a $800 oil pan. Possibly notch your crossmember and reinforce the notch with flat bar stock?

Yeah I took a hammer to it for now the car isn’t really ready for the road yet still needs an exhaust, speed density, and a tune. I just hoped to find a better option I may end up trying to make something myself

Also make sure you have the correct motor mounts and brackets. The front and rear roll stop brackets, in particular, are easily mixed up and may shift the position of the motor.

I don’t think the OP is installing anything wrong, has anything mixed up, or has a bent car, or bent North-South bar. I have a fairly new Moroso pan and my clearance is EXACTLY like what is shown in his pics. I am planning to either clearance the NS bar with a hammer (after heating the bar), or would consider cutting and having the bar re-welded for better clearance.

They’ve revised the Moroso design over the years and I’m thinking the recent design provided better crank clearance among other things, but maybe they just did a sh1tty job on the NS bar clearance.

I will post an update on tuners to indicate how I resolve the issue once I figure things out myself.

Update, I ended up cutting up the NS bar with a cutoff tool to create a flap, folding the flap down, and then welding it back together. It doesn’t look fantastic, but it will be fine for my track car. The modification yielded me around 0.4 inch clearance between the NS bar and the Moroso oil pan. I’m good with that.
