This should be a quick a easy forum I got everything taken apart and main seal out which was leaking oil bad just a fyi but I got everything taken apart now putting the rear main seal back in, I read it should be just above the surface and then I rear it should be just below the surface? Meaning the seal. I last time installing it pushed it all the way in. What is the proper installment of the rear main ?

Holy grammar and sentence structure Batman! Seriously, I could barely comprehend that sente-graph...

Just below the block edge, I believe it's beveled slightly so you don't want it popping out. Certainly don't want to bottom it out.

Alright so below the surface ,
So I put engine lube on the inside and then a thin layer on the out side ?

So does autozone rent that tool? So no rvt or lube at all on it ? I watched so many videos on it and they all said to lube the inside and rvt outside.

Ok so after reading that at the start it said not to lube it ? But then the last guy said to lube it cuz the spring may come out?
