Should be my final "Wow, what a dumb ass" question to post on the newbie forum. I want to install a nitrous purge kit inside of my RS Eclipse, and have the tank sit in the middle of back seat.

How unsafe is this?
What are the Pro's of a purge kit?
What are the cons of having a nitrousoxide system installed on your VEH?

The only pro I see is looks. Of course I want the kit that has the dual leds, and install them on the side door, I want advice from DSMTUNERS before I make a stupid decision.

Just what the F, am I getting myself into when I get it?

You want to pay for N2O just to purge it? I dont think spraying a cloud of N2O will give you the attention you want. Youll just get screwed with.

But, its your car so....
As long as you install it right, its not unsafe.

Pros

Cons
Money to buy kit
Bottle in the way
LEDS on your doors?

I guess I can understand that. I was just curious. :sosad: :toobad:

Remember, this is a performance oriented forum, not a Honda forum.

I agree with the other guys, if you want to be cool like Brian O'Conner, and purge everywhere, CO2 is cheaper.

But if you actually want to go faster, you could squirt the nitrous in the engine.

I understand all of you fully! I was just told by some guys at work that n0s would "kill" me in the event of a mis-fire. I tried searching the fourm all over and did not see much about NOS, just how to install it.

Can you squirt into system, and purge?

I don't want to sound like a dick, but come on. If you have to ask a question like that, you need to stay away from nitrous.

right cause honda guys are the only ones who have ricer mentalities.

i dont know why you guys have to talk about honda so much..... I had a tite honda hatchback with a built b16a that never lost a race.... even to a dsm.... I know I didnt race a 12 second one, but I raced the guy that hooked me up with my dsm in his 13 second car, and I spanked him..... honda is one of the best motor companies in the world.... I wish I still had it so I could show you what a 300hp 88 honda civic could do.... especially if it had a 100 shot in it...

go out to the races and find a hot little honda and race him for money.... HONDA FOR LIFE!!!!! hahahahahahahahhaha

Id say use Co2 just for purge like everybody else. I also think that if you do use nitrous that some of the benefits should not be displayed ( going into your motor). If you need nitrous help just let me know. I have been spraying my 1g for quite some time on my Frankenstein nitrous kit.

Your right. I only say this as about every "hot honda" around here is all rice. I should have been more globally minded, as I suppose there are many very fast Honda's floating around. Just not around here.

To answer your three questions
1. As far as mounting the bottle inside the car instead of the trunk, why? Put it in the dang trunk. Nos is more fun to hide not flaunt. They make remote bottle opener kit's for these thing's and there not that expensive. If your spidey sense is tingling enough for you to ask ir it's safe or not :nono:
then go with what you think is safer.

2. The purge kit (assuming you have the nos actually hooked up to your vehicle and functioning) is designed to clear air out of the nos line. In high h.p. pro applications, I can see it being handy. On a RS Eclipse that's not a full out race vehicle, I say no need for one other than to look cool.

3. The con's of a nitrous system installed in your vehicle? Do you mean inside the cab with you, or just in general? Since I covered the first, the latter is simple. There is nothing wrong with nos if you set it up and use it right. Zex and other systems often have computer controlled release and mix options. Go with one of these systems or a similar system that can controll the nos flow, fuel flow, and rpm's the nos is released at. This will greatly increase your chances of having fun with no boom boom. People blow there motors because much like boost, nos is addictive and easy to "turn up"
Do it right and spend the money the first time and it will be fine. and put your damn bottle in the trunk unless this is a track car!

LordZed has the most helpful reply yet. The only thing I could add is that nitrous is just as safe as any other power adder if used the right way. Most problems come in when timing, shot amount, bad plugsect ect. Point is, use it the way you are supposed to.. and you should not have any real problem. Just don't get your intentions mixed with your.. or the engine's capabilties and you will be fine.
