What is the circled part of the injector called and what is its purpose?

Needing to know for replacement options, cannot locate that part in my searching

my current injectors have them, they are plastic. I purchased replacement seals and orings from extreme psi and they sent me a rubber seal that they say goes onto the tip. Yet the part in question doesn't appear to be a seal to me because it is a hard plastic. The pic I am uploading now is the orings and lower seals I purchased. So here is where the "I'm stupid" part comes in again, is the part in question on my current injectors just that old and in need of replacement or are they supposed to be a hard plastic?

They harden after a while exposed to the elements. They seal the injector from leaking air/fuel. When they harden and reuse them, you can potentially have a massive boost leak. BTW Home Depot carries these in their hardware section worked for me.

well I got new ones, I was just completely confused as to why mine are hard and these are rubber! so thank you yet again for answering my very stupid questions, eventually I will get the hang of owning a 4g63 turbo'd car . I mastered the 420a in my 2g within a summer, but this round there is way more to learn!

Also, I am aware of major boost leaks from the seals, which is why I bought new ones. One of the spots I am leaking currently, and I am sure there are more. We will be doing a leak test this weekend to find the rest of the issues.

They aren't plastic. they're just so old they're brittle. take off your oil cap. I bet the rubber seal under it is the same way.

I believe it is, I'm leaking oil from my cap too haha
