Yet another limp mode case, but its not the ETAX relay...

Ok heres the deal. Bought a clean 98 420a auto eclipse for $800. thinking this wld be a simple fix from a relay, however i was wrong. The guy before me put a new rebuilt tranny in it from a 99, along with wire harness. Replaced the tcu as well. I got it home swapped relays and its still stuck in limp mode. Ive got power to 2 posts on the relay block. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am stumped..

i know it sounds stupid but check the tranny fluid level I had a 96 talon N/A that would do the same thing when the tranny fluid got low. Pissed me off to no extent so i finally tighted the trans cooler line . no more limp mode

I have the same problem i think.... well i have had limp mode for about 2 years. But had got the road surge shift box....which would allow me to bypass the limp mode and still shift. However after my recent head build, my car wont shift again. It says in low gears, and i have no clue why.

I have check my fluid and it seems to be fine ( i put a new trans cooler in but also re filled). My old fluid that came out of the trans cooler was pretty dark however.

ok after a day of tinkering with it ive found nothing. Replaced the tcu again, checked the fluid. Ive done all i know to do. Im gonna get it hooked up to a drivetrain diagnostics to see if i can dig up any codes. this car has me stumped. Wld it be due to the 99 tranny and wire harness that were swapped into this 98?
