Yet another "how much horsepower" question...

Hi guys,

I was just curious how many ponies I'm likely putting out at the crank with my setup on my 97 TSi AWD Talon.

The related mods are:

- HKS MegaFlow Intake
- 3 inch Downpipe
- 3 inch Upper IC pipe
- Hi-Flow Cat
- HKS Turbo Exhaust
- Greddy Type-S BOV
- Hallman Boost Controller set to about 13-14 psi
- Ported & Polished Exhaust Manifold
- Magnacore Spark Plug Wires
- Stock Clutch
- Stock Turbo
- Stock IC

I'm kind of curious what my 0-60 time should be as well. The gentleman I bought the Talon from said he had timed it once at 5.5 seconds, but the best I've been able to get so far with the good ol' "stopwatch" is 5.96. I slip the clutch from about 4000 RPM on the launch. Also I've noticed that my max boost in 1st gear is about 10 psi.

Thanks guys!

13-14 psi with those mods probably means around 240 crank horsepower. Something like that.

A 5.5 second 0-60 seems a bit on the fast side. 5.8-6.3 seconds sounds more like it.

Crank HP im guessing like 250-260 since you turned up the boost and have a high flow exhuast system. cuz the cat restricts I think they say 10-20% of power. But remember since you are AWD you have drive train loss to the wheels. Stock boost is like 11-13 psi.

Your 60 times could be better since you are AWD since you didnt launch hard. I would say do 5000 - 5500 rpm atleast since you're AWD.

turn your boost up to 15-16 ;)

sorry dont mean to mess up the thread, but whats the max he can run with his setup on the 450cc's why dun u set at max to see what u can get??

No way. If it restricted 20% of your power, then removing the cat on a stock car would be worth 40 horsepower. I think not.

Try more like 3%, tops.

how much HP are you looking at with 18PSI

If I have an exhaust boost Controller, boost Gauge, Intake, 255 fuel pump and 550cc Injectors what would i run with a 1990 talon AWD turbo 5spd
also would i need a SAFC?
