Hello,

I have a 1G awd and I am going to get a new exhaust system for it. I am going to go with a custom exhaust system because I can't find a good priced system (apex, greddy etc). I am going to have one of the local shops custom mandrel bend me up the piping and I will provide him with a muffler. The only question is there really a difference between a universal Apex or Magna flow or other one. The local shops has a titanium muffler from (I think) Volt. I am not totally sure if this is the company but.. Is this one I should be looking at? I was reading about straight through and non mufflers. I am looking for one that won't be to loud (I wanna carry on conversations in the car), but obviously I want alittle noise. I am going with a 2.5" piping, only thing is the muffler. I don't wanna end up with some ricer sounding junk.

PLMK! :dsm: :thumb: Michael

a turbo car will never sound ricey. My car has a 3 inch O2 elim back with a Dynomax muffler, basically an N1 look alike, and it is loud but very deep. I would just find one that had a tip that you liked and a straight through design.

my muffler was just a no-name 3 inch inlet with a 6 inch perferated core and a 5 inch tip... but i have a 3 inch exhaust. i did the same thing your doing except i got a rnr o2 eliminator dp.

i recomend going 3 inch while your doing it though, also i would get a downpipe and o2 housing. and if your worried about noise get a high flow cat put in there.

also when they are making it tell them your want flanges in the same locations as the stock ones, so if you ever have to pull the exhaust it will come off in peices. and make sure you get stainless steel so it won't rust.
