XXR, SSR, Volks?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Yes I am running XXR 527 18x9.75 on my evo.

Try next level motoring.
NLmotoring.com

Your assortment of wheels is very widespread..

The difference in price between an XXR and a VOLK is huge. A single volk could probably buy a set of XXR wheels.

xxR wheels I have seen widely sold on ebay, good imitations and a cheap set of wheels that could look good with the right setup.

SSR's more reputable you could pay avg of $1200+ for a set

Volk would be the Ultimate "Respectable" Wheels/Brand Paying out the ass for the name but, also:

Volks are Forged Aluminum wheels where as the others are just Aluminum.

You can see the quality difference and why they charge what they do, but to me unless you had a wallet that doesn't often get hurt buy em and that's what all purchases boil down to. What you can budget, however making sure the wheels suit the ride is also worth looking at.

Local shops or any site that sells Volks, Rays, SSR's etc... you won't find much of a difference in price though you will be paying a pretty pennie. As, for XxR's check ebay you could get a set for as low as $300

That is one beautiful evo. Thanks for the website I'll check it out.

Shsking11...my gf is now jealous of your evo...because I had an odd reaction to viewing it .. I need a damn evo haha.

Volk TE37's on my 1G! I have not one complaint about them. Mainly because they came with the car. I only gave $3,000 for the car and the rims and tires are easily worth that! If I had to purchase them myself I don't think I could afford them tho. So I will just rock what I got, and luckily in my case they are Volk's.

LOL Thanks, I really don't think I will ever sell this car. I will live in it before I sell it! I would be like Chris Farley on SNL. "Living in my 1g down by the river"!

And I was pretty surprised that I found it in this good of shape for the price. Some guy had it sitting in his garage and didn't want it anymore. Lots of luck on my part.

XXR has some nice looking wheels for cheap pricing. Everyone's finances are different but I think for the average person paying more in wheels than what most DSM's are worth is dumb.

I like these in gunmetal:
XXR 521

anybody have thoughts on the quality of xxr? i've heard a ton of mixed reviews. I've even seen a post going around facebook about how an evo hit a pot hole and his xxr disintegrated(i don't buy it)

I have a set of SSR Professor SP1's in my garage....forged 3 piece....I think I got them for $1,300-$1,400. Can't remember where I got them though. It was before Tanabe bought SSR. To get legit "made-in-Japan" wheels, you usually have to go to a local shop or to one of the reputable online stores like Vivid, HorsepowerFreaks, etc. Sounds like you already bought rims though? :hmm:

I had a set of xxr 002 on my Jetta the quality wasnt the greatest, the paint wasnt the same between different width rims. I got them from nlmotoring.com, they had the cheapest prices around. I think With wheels you get what you pay for, cheap rims are cheap low quality and you can buy another one if anything happens to them, expensive rims are way better quality and stronger (forged).

i dont think XXR should be in the same sentence as SSR or Volks

and i have Gramlight Rays on my Talon. and XXRs on my G35, but theres no way im dropping a couple thousand on DD wheels LOL

Ya I bought some XXR 522s.
P.S I like your cars color haha.

Volks were on the Talon...the Gen will get XXRs. Commuter car status doesn't warrant 3k in wheels, personally.
