alright when i bought my car the wheels already locked up on the guy i bought it from. So the transfer shaft and case were both trashed, after i bought the car he bought a used transfer shaft and transfer case off ebay. I just got everything installed (transfer shaft from the transmission to the transfer case, case to the driveshaft, driveshaft to the rear differential)

Now that its installed everythings great, except for a little extra noise, some grease will help that, but also right where the driveshaft connects to the transfer case its leaking a little. Now i know that transfer cases without the recall leak a little bit overtime, but i leave my car for 1 day and i come back and on the asphalt theres a little puddle, its not like a PUDDLE, but its about 6 inches in diameter on the ground.

I'm wondering is it supposed to be leaking THAT much? if it is then its all good i'll just keep filling it up every now and then until i get the recall done on this car, but if theres something i can do to make it slow the leaking down that would be great too.

umm fix the leak yourself?
its not suppossed to leak at all, and it sounds like you have a severe leak man.
get the oil seal, and check out the vfaq on how to fix it, not to difficult

Yes, definitely replace it. I didn't replace mine, and I had to pull the transmission off to fix a slipping clutch, because the transfer case lost too much fluid, and began to cause too much friction on the clutch. Hearing that t-case making a low grinding noise and a couple bangs is not fun.

wait wtf u just said it not supposed to leak at all, its supposed to leak until it gets the recall done on it am i wrong? i mean can u do the recall urself? also i have a couple belts i need them to replace theyre a little warn. I know its leaking faster than it would normally leak, and also like with the recall not been done it only leaks during driving and u know splatters from the wind on the bottom of the car.

ok, its not suppossed to leak at all... some eventually start to leak, some not all...
yours obviously is and pretty severly at that, take it in and see what they say, but be armed with knowing that they have to fix the thing, and dont let them tell ya no, sorry bye, we can replace it though for 500 bucks...
You can fix it yourself absolutely and it may be youre best option even if they will fix it.
unbolt the transfer case, you said you pulled the tranny already so the transfer case will be a walk in the park.
NOW... follow everything this link says...

Actually... the dealership doesn't have to touch the car now. The transfer case that was originally in the car was covered under the recall. The one that is in there now is NOT the original equiptment and the dealership (interpret that as Mitsubishi Motors of North America) does not have to warranty a part that is not the original equipment.

Follow the recomendations about the vfaq and fix this leak before the t-case locks up on you.
