WTF? im building mad boost in neutral!?! [Merged 12-7]

I want to test my pcv valve under boost. Is there anyway I can get the turbo to boost by reving the engine under the hood?

I recently blew out my dipstick, I did a leakage test and my intake valves are sticking open a little so that would mean boost is getting in there when it shouldnt be right? Causing excess crankcase pressure.

My valve cover breather works fine, I pulled the pcv valve, I can blow through it easily, I also pulled the hose that goes from the pcv to the intake. I make sure it and both fittings where not clogged.

So, basically i want to have the engine under boost just for a second to see if the pcv blows off excess crankcase pressure. But being as there is boost in the intake that will keep the pcv from opening wont it? So my intake valves sticking open is what is causing excess crankcase pressure?
 
I believe that's because you're still pushing exhaust through the turbine, regardless. But like they said above, you're pushing it through fast enough for their not to be true back up of boost in the intake because the motor is revving free and fast. Therefor the motor is pushing it all out just as quick as it's coming in, resulting in low boost. That's why if you have a BOV like a Type-S you can get a little chirp outta the BOV when revving in neutral. Just don't sit there and slap the throttle around in the parking lot 'cause you're turbo is cooler than the Hondas.:nono:
 
I said WOT in Neutral, and WOT in 2nd. I didnt say keeping it there. I meant 2500 as say a point on a line. Also i said i didnt understand it, and that i couldnt explain it. All i know is that i can build 15psi while free reving my motor in neutral.
 
I would like to see 15psi on a free rev. I cant even build that much boost on a 5200rpm stutterbox and a s16g. That sounds kind of far fetched.
 
Well I didnt mean Fast and the Furious particularly. I mean he has his reverse lights on when he goes into a spin at 140 mph.(the things you notice after you have an eclipse in this movie are amazing) I didnt take into effect the hollywood aspect of it, just wondering, thats all.

I had hard time doing it too w/ my small 16g. But I just re-evaluated my point of view of "fuel dump" and then i could build 12 psi of boost w/ my 60-1. You ahve to actually explode fuel into the turbine (much like a jet engine) to get it to work well. This is VERY hard on your turbine wheel and bearing section.

I can still not build much of any boost w/ my small 16g and just free revving w/out antilag active w/ dsmlink.

Im going to take a video of it and post a link to the vid tomarrow, just to prove im not pulling this outta my ass.
 
I have a S16G with an engine that can handle 15 pounds. Whenever I had it set to 15 pounds I could never free-rev it to 15. Would build to 4-6 at most in neutral.

I could see it done with an auto if he's break boosting. I don't build boost in nuetral hardly. "oh yeah FF is funny t3t4 turbo dom with a cool air intake and normal headers that are on a 420a motor nice" also the supra on that movie is a non turbo

How did you hook up your gauge? Maybe you tapped into the fuel line... Maybe it is -15 IN/HG

I would check your gauge and how you connected. Does it read in PSI?

I once heard an EVO racing on the highway and when he shifted I heard what sounded like "machine-gun" fire and fire out of his exhaust... My friend told me it was "anti-lag" and I was thoroughly confused... I can sorta understand what's going on WTF and if it's a good thing how could one get an anti-lag setup for his 2G :D

Yes, the easiest way is to get DSM link are and AEM EMS.

As the links says, It delays the spark by a significant amount so that the gas is still burning and expanding as it goes through the turbo.
 
I cant believe im being harassed about where my boost gauge is tapped, but alright. Its tapped between the FPR and the Intake Manifold. There are 0 solenoids on my car, so its just a strait line that is tapped.
 
so...if someone wanted to give the guy some suggestions about it instead of raggin' on the guy...timing maybe? i'm having a freak of a time figuring out why my car is building boost (10-14lbs) in neutral and is running like complete crap. I think it may be the CAS, someone was messing with...but those may be some ideas for you to check out.
