Be prepared, this is a looong thread:

So, I was driving along one night in my 95 Talon tsi Awd at around 110mph for about 2 minutes straight and all of a sudden I hear a strange noise coming from my turbo. It's hard to explain the sound but it kinda sounded to me like the turbo "spooling" down but ten times louder than usual ( t-25, I'm wanting to get a Garrett GT35-R so if I ruined it, no big deal.) so I pull over, pop the hood and the turbo, manifold and down-pipe are glowing red. That was the fist time I've seen one look like that in person so I let the car cool down for a while and then proceed to go home. Car runs and drives like normal. The next morning, however, I back out of the driveway, put it in first and "waahhhhh" the clutch is slipping horribly. Out comes the tranny and my ACT 2600 with the street disc, in goes a new 8# Fidanza flywheel, Competition Clutch 2,500# pressure plate, ClutchNet 6-puck ceramic sprung-hub disc with a new plastic-sleeved throw-out bearing. I had a local manual transmission re-builder tear my tranny down and inspect it because I had a slight feeling that something was wrong with it. He said it was a little worn ( 2nd bearing and synchro's) but that it should be okay. Fast foward to today when I finally get everything put back together ( with a .5mm washer behind the pivot ball as I've heard they require), put it in first "waahhhhh" same kind of "slippage." The clutch engaged directly off the floor, like if the engine was running and in neutral and slammed it into first, the car would rock forwards a little. I adjusted it to the best of my ability, DSM's and their clutch-adjustment issues are new to me, to where it engages about halfway in the pedal travel and no luck, something's still slipping. I'm gonna fiddle with the adjustment some more to try to get it perfect, or damn near it, but I'm fairly certain that I won't fix the "slipping." I'm now thinking that it's got to be the viscous coupler or center differential. I'm sure that someone has seen this before and would like to know what could be the cause and how much more money is this damn car going to cost me?
WTF :talon: :barf:
Oh, and if there's anyone in Memphis TN that absolutely, positively knows how to adjust the clutch to work at it's best and last the longest, PM me please and I'll pay to have it done. I'm tired of f'in with it and almost tired of looking at this damn car!

Well did you bleed the clutch fluid to make sure there's no air in it?

Now just how in the #### is air trapped in the system going to make the clutch seem to slip??? I'm pissed off at the car and it made me go get drunk so, no offense. But yeah, I have bled the system. I'm 99.8% sure that it has nothing to do with the clutch at all. The tranny's more than likely fuct and I need to find out from someone with experience what it is, how much whatever it is costs and how hard whatever is to replace. V.C or center diff?

It's a brand-new Fidanza so I ASSume that it is stepped correctly, not sure if the fork is bent because I have nothing to compare it too. I had a ACT 2600 in before and it did fine but I launched it way too often and burnt the disc along with not properly breaking it in so I don't think it is bent. I read elsewhere in a post that a failed viscous coupling would feel like a slipping clutch but a slipping clutch would slip more in higher gears. My slippage is more noticeable in lower gears. I can find the V.C. Eliminators all day long but I don't want to go that route. I'd rather keep it an lsd. Any ideas on where to find a oem v.c. for a good price?

Come on, there's got to be somebody who has seen this type of thing before.

[Next bump gets this locked.] :nono:

One more bump? What is that? Sorry, I'm new here.
