So I was talking to a buddy about how similar a dsm bov flange is to a wrx flange. I was wondering if anyone has attempted to bolt on a wrx flange. Just to clarify, I am not trying to run a wrx bov, rather use one of their bolt on kits. For example, an hks ssqv can be had for around $130 with their stock flange. I am sure drilling would be required as with a greddy, but I am just wondering if anyone has attempted this.

I'm sure you would be able to find an eBay HKS SSQV clone just as cheep (or cheeper) with a DSM Flange. I say clone as the real HKS BOVs are $$$$$, not $120 :dsm:

I did it. I used the WRX to hks bov flange adapter. I made a thread a while back asking if it would work. None could 100% clarify so I went ahead and got it.

The adapter flange was only $25 bucks on ebay compared to the $50 for the 1g to hks bov flange adapter.

The flange on my xs 2g fmic kit is for 1g bovs. I had already modified it to fit greddy bovs as well.

So seeing the picture I thought, hey the wrx flange looks similar. Well the flange comes in and its significantly bigger then a 1g flange. The holes did not match up to the 1g flange because of this. I could make the hole bigger and make it slotted, but I did not want to do that. Instead I made new holes on the wrx flange to meet with the new holes I put on the ic flange to fit greddy bovs. The problem with this however was the design of the part where it adapts to accept hks bovs. I really had to dremel out sides of the transition as the head of the bolt will not sit flat.

I managed to make it work, but perhaps making it a slotted flange wouldve been easier. Just add a washer and it sshould be no problem. It's working great with my hks ssqv knock off. 25psi no leaks, 40lb/min.

If you want to save $25 bucks, it will work with some modification, but if I wasn't so pressed for cash at the time, I wouldve just got the correct 1g to hks adapter. Unfortunately there is no one on ebay who sells those for $25 like the WRX adapter flange. They should, because the quality of it was really good.
