2G Wrong Flywheel after 2g Auto to Manual Swap

well after finally getting my car back together after the swap from auto to standard i went to turn the key and get the sound of just the starter spinning (not making contact w/ the flywheel.) So i call my friend who sold me the flywheel and he tells me it was off of an AWD 2g. kinda pissed becuase i made perfectly clear i needed an fwd i got to thinking...would it be possible to use a AWD Starter or are the starter housings diffrent on an awd tranney? or will i be forced to tare this thing apart agian?

Unfortunately for you, the AWD flywheels are a bit smaller in diamater than the FWD ones. This is why your starter is not engaging to the teeth on the AWD wheel.

FWD and AWD starters are the same. The starter housing is built into the bell housing of the transmission, so your best solution is to put a FWD flywheel on there.

if you have a 6 bolt then i have one laying around, but it needs to be resurfaced

mines a 7 bolt but thanx any way i do however have a act 7 bolt flywheel for an awd i dont need any more..
