Would this intercooler heat sink?

I know the problem with small or cheep intercoolers is that they heat sink and hold heat in instead of cooling it. On my spyder I am putting a T3 on it and only boosting 6 psi. I want an intercooler to help prevent detenation. This is a budget turbo project and this is the cheapest one I found http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1003& . If anyone wants to sell me theirs I'm looking for one for under 250-200ish . Thanks for your help.

That would work fine, for that low of boost a stock SMIC should work fine.

I would say if you are worried about something than just save the other 200 dollars and buy a greddy or something equal in quality. It wouldnt take that much extra effort to raise 200 bucks and it would be for a good cause. You dont want to be buying budget parts if they are going to hurt your car in the long run, otherwise your budget just went through the roof when the engine overheats, or detonates. All up to you i think that one would be fine but if you are worried stick with the brands that are well known to make great intercoolers.

A used FMIC would be awesome. I don't want to do a side mount just because Eclipse's look killer with a FMIC.

You do realize that is just the core and end tanks? You will need piping and couplers to finish off the install.

I have seen some of the guys running the ssautochrome kit and seem to like it with a total price for everything being under 400. I chose to go with the extremeintercoolers kit and I love it. I think their smallest kit runs around 700 for everything and you will not be dissapointed with it.
