How much psi can the stock side mount intercooler hold before it gets heatsoaked?

How many PSI on what turbo?

Mine was getting major heatsoak pretty much after 15 psi on the 14b. When I was pushing 20 psi I was seeing 200+ *F at the throttle body by the end of the 1/4 mile.

Basically the stock intercooler is for stock power levels.

My temps were about 200 at 17psi with E16G after a 1st through 3rd gear pull to redline.

If you plan on turning up the boost, I would really consider upgrading intercoolers.

You should just purchase a large fmic, you can find cheap enough kits that will hold upwards of 500HP easy.

For stealth.Go with the supra sidemount.You want a 500hp car, go with a fmic.

Another possible cheaper option and one that I used was water/methanol injection. With the right setup you dont even need a intercooler. But not DD worthy all that much. I picked up my Snow Performance kit from craigslist for about 120. Its the progressive type.

Is the supra intercooler a basic bolt on or do you have to do any cutting? What year supra carry this item? Have 16g looking for 15 to 18 psi without heat soaking the intercooler.

I have no idea what year they come from, I assume Mark III or IV.

HERE is a long write up on installing one into a 2g, but a 1g will be similar.

The Supra sidemount will work for a 16g at that boost level, but for the work, you might as well get a decent fmic like the Punishment Racing or VRSF IMO.

For the price of a supra side mount you can get a big front mount and piping if you don't mind a long route.
