I was thinking on the way home how I would get some extra power and heres what i came up with. well i would need an afr guage to see how lean or rich of course, and a fcd, and a new pump maybe a 255lph or just a 190lph. so with all this stuff couldn't i just turn up the boost till i am not running lean, but just a little rich at WOT or am i wrong with my tuning thoughts? any thoughts on this?? I know i will need a new turbo too and would I have any problems with idle?? sorry for the long, long piece of question. still a newb :rolleyes:
 
You best bet would be to stick with the plan on the Tuning Guide if you want to start modding and making some power. There are alot more things to consider other than turning up the boost and adding fuel, and the fcd is not a great idea because feul cut is there for a reason and if you tune properly it wont be an issue.
 
well yea there would also be timing and free flow so taking off the the whole catback or even the downpipe would get that. plus mayb a datalogger or a tuning device for timing wouldn't that be could there.
 
Your tuning and advancement is not right. You will not be able to just "do" those things. There is a time to experiment, and there is a time to follow what others have proven and done in the past. OMG
 
The problem is that you are starving the engine of air while trying to over run your FPR with fuel from a high level pump. Get yourself atleast a set of injectors (550) and a S-AFC to make the air-fuel micture better than trying to over and under run things.

You can cause either a softball sized hole or blown chunks (<---right click, save as) everywhere from all the detonation you will incure throught the life of the setup you speak of.
