alright so i have a 91 laser turbo... bought it with the motor out and it was rebuild by someone else... and i broke it in idleing and then i went to go break it in on the street, while i was doing this a connecting rod bolt came loose and took out some bearings hard core... cause someone doesnt know how to use or a torque wrench i guess  well anyway i want to get a different block and crank and just swap my internals... i found this car on craigslist 1992 plymouth laser

its a 92 door jam says apr of 92 so it should be before they went to different connecting rods... i just want to know how i would id it.. i went and looked at it and the guy sayed the block and head was inspected cause the guy thought he blew his motor so he tore it all down and had it all looked at and what he found out was the turbo blew... and the head is ported and polished and it has a lot more upgrades that i could use... but i dont want to buy it to have parts laying around for a non running car... since i am on a tight budget and this is supposed to be my dd.. but i was looking at the crank and it looked like there were marks in the journals it didnt seem to be in it almost like surface rust... the car has been sitting for about 8 months... and everything is not there to make that car run... let me know what u think or i was thinking about stripping my car. but i have about $2500 into it and that would be a big hit on the pocket book.... so i am stuck between stick more time and money into it or just cut it and move on.. thanks

Take the crank to a good machine shop to have them check the crank. May be the crank just needs to micro polish or to be cut.
