Working on cleaning up my engine, check my parts list.

So, my engine needs a new timing belt along with new gaskets and such since it seems it is leaking oil from just about every spot known. I'm going to pull the engine, clean it up and paint it. Since the engine has at least 100k miles (I'm not sure exactly how many since it is a used engine swapped in by the PO, but it's been in for 60k.) I'm only running a T25, hope to up it to 14psi once this is all done. The head gasket is holding fine, so I don't want to touch it at the moment.

I figure that since it's coming out to get cleaned, I might as well do all the maintenance work at once for peace of mind. Here's my list. If you think I forgot anything important, go for it.

  • From SMT
STM Timing Belt Replacement Kit ->How much are the parts from Satan? This is $240.

  • From rockauto.com
W/P to P/S Belt
A/C Belt
Alt to W/P Belt
170° Thermostat -> I'm running a bit warm...
Water Pump
Door Switch -> Passenger one is busted
Cylinder Head Gasket Set -> All the gaskets from the top of the engine.
Converstion Gasket Set -> All the bottom gaskets
Oil Filler Cap -> Current one leaks and looks like crap
Fuel Filter
Tranny Filter Kit
Tranny Fluid Pan Gasket

  • Ebay
Ebay 3" downpipe -> Current one has a half-dollar size hole and won't pass inspection in Oct.
K&N Filter -> The FPIK one

  • Elsewhere
10W-30 Oil
Coolant
Tranny Fluid
Engine Paint
Purolator Pure One Oil Filter
Marvel Mystery Oil
BISS O-ring

  • I already have
RTV Black
RTV Blue
JBWeld

I also already have Purple Power engine degreaser for cleaning. Tried it out and it worked pretty good.

I really don't have much more money to put towards this. I'm already at about $850. I'd like to get an intercooler and piping kit, but that might have to wait until spring tax returns. It's about $270 for that.

You might wanna do your valve cover gasket. I ddn't notice it on the list but they definitely like to leak on 4g63's

And a leaky valve cover gasket is very ugly in your engine bay

edit: Nevermind I didn't read well enough LOL

Yeah, the 2 gaskets kits cover just about every gasket.
The left one cost $48.79 and the right one costs $78.79. Not too shabby.

Oh, and add copper spray to that list of things to get.
