I have a check engine light and the code that it says is an idle air switch or something any suggestions would be nice this is on my 98 eclipse gst 7 bolt

Well there is something called a idle air control valve and idle switch. which one is it??? Do you know what the code number was? Does your car randomly die when coming to a stop or idle rough? Or are you have a idle surge, where the idle is going up and down?
