WOOT ECMlink, but a bad misfire now

so bought a 1990 Eprom ECU, ECMlink chip with every thing else needed. The guy i bought it from set it to stock, with boost gauge for Knock count, CEL comes on after 2 counts of Knock, and Launch control set to 5k, and set the Idle to 950 Rpms. I installed it started up normally, part throttle seemed a little different i then tried a WOT pull after driving around for 20 Min's and @ 5.5k RPM's bad miss fire, so i tried to get that high at part throttle and same thing just not as hard bucking? At part or full throttle it pulls nice till around 4.2K then drops off and shortly after the (5.5K) she starts to badly misfire. I put the stock ECU back in and she ran just fine.

so i have the clutch wire that comes with ECMlink does that need to be installed for Launch control?

Do i have to tune it to run, or does it auto tune it's self at stock settings?

I don't have a laptop at the moment because i thought i would run like the factory till i got some bigger injectors, fuel pump, SD, and run on corn.

Honestly, every car is different, I think you need to take it to get tuned and dialed in properly bro. Don't see any other reason why it would run improperly.

It does not autotune anything. If everything is zero'd out, it should run like stock. I would assume everything is not zero'd out. You never mentioned anything about what maf it was set for. So, that could likely be your problem.

well, the guy told me that he had set every thing back to stock, i have a feeling he left something out.

is there any gain's to haveing ECMlink over stock for a stock car?
Besides cutting 60' times down

or should i just keep the stocker in for now till i get other parts for her?

If you have no ability to change any settings right now, just run the stocker until you can hook a laptop up.

I would run the stocker till you get a laptop so you can check out the settings. ECM Link can be very useful on a stock car, you can squeeze more power out of it, launch control, a whole bunch of stuff.

Update, found the problem. The maf was locked, still need to get a tune but I'm digging it
