so I finally got my car back together after replacing the head gasket and I got all of the timing marks lined up (dowels on the cams straight up, etc) Last night it wouldn't start at all. Wouldn't even try, then this morning it would start but die right away and it sounded like it was backfiring or something. I'd put the key in the start location and I could here this buzzing (I'm assuming fuel pump?) for about 10 sec before it would turn over. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

I have the plugs going 4123 and the mas is plugged in. why would it hesitate to try to start though? that's a weird one.

It's got fuel cause I can see it on the pistons and it must have at least some spark cause it would start but run real rough then die. Why would it hesitate before turning over though? that doesn't make sense

I would check it anyway instead of guessing.

1. Pull the fuel return line off the end of fuel rail to make sure it squirts as you crank.
2. Pull plug wires one at a time from coil while holding it close to the coil with a plier that have a rubber handle, crank it and make sure you have spark to all 4 cylnders.
3. Double check the mas and couplers around the intake pipe.

Good luck.

Hey all. GREAT NEWS The injectors were missing there little rubber o rings on the head side and were leaking air into the system. It's running again. Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated. There's nothing like a dsm owner when the car first starts working again. And luckily with us we get to go through this joyous occasion quite often. ;)
:D :D
