Hello all.
I am starting to assemble the bottom end. Only intention with this motor is to drag race with it seeing close to 30-40lbs of boost. According to the wiseco tech sheet it calls for .008 per in. which equates to about .027 of gap at minimum for top and second ring. The gap recommended seems alittle on the larger side. Has anyone used the recommended specs and how is the blow by? Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Are you sure the sheet called for .008. That's a bit excessive. For my 2.1 with a 87mm bore. I run the top ring at .022 and my 2nd ring at .024. That's at .0065/inch and .007/inch.

I like those numbers alot better than .008 but I plan on pushing this thing as much as I can so I was looking at following the high boost application buy as stated seems very excessive

What turbo do you plan to run? 30-40 psi of boost on a certain turbo won't create the same amount of airflow. And I ask that to get an idea of the power level you plan to have. I built my motor with the mind set of using a precision 6466 at 45psi on e85. I would have placed my motor ring gap on the looser side. But maybe someone with more insight can chime in.
 
Currently the plan is to run an hx 40 or pte 6466 as well, more than likely on e85 as well. I'm leaning more towards top around .022 to .024 and second around .024 to .026

That is EXCESSIVE. Do not run those gaps. I would do 18-21 at the top and 20-23 bottom.
 
I am running .024" top, .028" 2nd and running a HX40 at 30lbs currently but I will turn it up to 40+ if I need to. So far, I haven't needed to. Motor is strong, no smoke and very minimal crankcase pressure. Just what I am doing. It's a 10:1, E85 motor that I run to 9k. It's basically a "racecar" in street car clothes.
I added the build sheet so you could see what the motor was made of.
