Will this weight slow me down?

I'll start off with I'm sorry if this was suppose to be in appearence, but the question isn't how they look it's if they slow me down.

Okay so I just bought some subs and put them in the back of my eclipse, they're 2 rockford fosgate t1s in an obcon steel box. The box probably weighs about 100 to 150 pounds and is sitting crooked in the back, with 1 back seat down.

Okay so my Question is will they slow me down enough to invest in a new box, or is just a little bit? Remeber I'm very low on money becuase I can't find a job yet :/

i agree. it doesn't look good. forget the boxes for a minute... the layout kills me.
you say you cant close the lid if they are repositioned...

have you tried keeping them facing up but move the bog box towards the seat
the bazooka boxes further towards the taillights.
that would give a much better weight distribution which is what you want/need

your asking if it will slow you down, yes. enough to notice on a daily driver...
with that layout, yes.
if the weight was more even it would become a lot less noticeable.

try to get the weight distribution more even. and it should be fine.

Someone would deffinitly steal the box, those look like expensive subs in that box.

yep a seasoned thief can get those subs out no problem. I've carried 100Lbs on my shoulders from a dead lift many times. My subs were jacked from my Honda in less than 5minutes. and the box took me nearly 10 minutes to get in the trunk. And they know all about the blanket camouflage trick. Be careful

how about making a pine ply box? much lighter and just as strong

If your worried about your performance then why are you putting subs in?
