Will a TDo6 compressor cover/housing bolt on to a 14B? Hi, I have a 14B with a cracked compressor housing, the wheels are not damaged. Can I fit a TDo6 comp housing to the 14B? Where I can find a TDo6 housing (if it doesn't fit, where can I find a TDo5 replacement comp housing?)

TIA

How did you crack the compressor housing? Are you sure you dont mean the turbine/exhaust housing?

A TD06 housing would probobly physically fit but because the profile of the 14b compressor wheel is much smaller than that of the 20g wheel the compressor housing would likely be machined for its doubtful it would build much, if any boost because the air would be flying out around the wheel and not going into the ic outlet.

I don't know how it cracked, I got it used (for cheap). So I should probably stick with the TDo5 housing then. Who sells a TDo5 compressor housing for cheap?

TIA

before this gets closed for bumping, just save yourself the trouble and get another 14b in good condition. they're relatively cheap or just go with a bigger turbo.

if you really just want a compressor housing, i have a small 16g with a busted compressor wheel that you could use.

I dont think the 16g compressor cover would work as it is also machined for a different compressor wheel profile. Just hit up the trader, there are a million blown up 14b's out there. I'm sure you can find someone to sell you a compressor housing off one of them cheap.

What car comes with a TDo6 turbo? I'm going to give it a try if I can find a used compressor housing. From this picture, it looks similar, just bigger. So it might work. Anyone selling a TDo6 housing?

It will not work. The opening of a td06 housing is too large for a 14b wheel.

Simply put, the blades need to be very close to the sides of the opening. If you slapped a td06 housing on your 14b, you would have a gap between the side and the blades. That wouldn't work.

As suggested above, just get a new housing off a blown 14b for 20 bucks.

that would definately not work.. you can't put a 14b compressor wheel in a td06. you would build no boost at all.

I'm all about working smarter, not harder. FWIW, the time, money and/or effort needed to make this work is simply not worth it in comparision to finding a used 14B or 16G. The reasons that everyone above pretty much tell why, not to mention, your car will be back on the road much sooner if you just find a good used turbo to replace your blown one with.
