2G Will a 96 Eclipse GST ECU work in a 98 Eclipse GST

I wanted to find out if 96 ECU would work in a 98 Eclipse. Both are GST.

Yes it will.

I know on the 95's you need to swap your plugs or switch the wires at the ECU (either or), not sure on the 96's though, so research that or you will have a hard time getting that car to start.

yeah i looked and it said something about the cas not being the same just want to make sure before i actually try it out..

yes you will need to swap the plug wires and possibly the injectors to get it to run correctly. just curious why are you swapping to the 96 ECU? did the 98 one go bad?

They are right on swaping plugs. Cam sensor will be 180* out since 95/96 have cas on driver side, and 97-99 cas in on pass. side.
At the ignition coil, connect plug wires from cylinders 1 and 4 into the coil for 2 and 3. Connect
the plug wires from cylinders 2 and 3 into the coil for 1 and

And in the off chance you have COP, swap them at the ECU.

nope. it cause i am selling my 98 gst and it has dsmlink. and i want to keep it and throw in the 96 talons in. but i tried it . tuned on and didn't sound right. what else do i have to do besides plugs.. please someone fast before i sell the car. i want to keep link..
