will a 1g eprom ecu for fwd turbo work on my 97 gst?

ive been doing some searching for quite sometime but can not really find the answer. Will the 1g EPROM ECU work on my car? Because from my understanding i can not get dsmlink v3 on my ECU without having it converted to EPROM by ECMtuning and I feel that it would be cheaper to buy a 1g EPROM ECU than to have it converted.

No it will not, first 1g cars are obd1, 2gs are obd2. You need a 2g ecu. I did the conversion on my 1g non eprom, it was cheaper than buying an eprom. (I also had two ecus)

It WILL work, but not without major wiring changes. Best bet is as he said, have yours socketed.

ok thanks guys, i appreciate the info... once i have my winter beater running ill take the time to ship out the ecu and have it socketed
