wierd oil leak

I have an oil leak on the timing belt side of my engine. oil is covering pretty much everything in that area. I have already replaced the cam seals, crank seal, and valve cover gasket. I cleaned all the oil off removed the harmonic blancer. then started the car and watched to see where it was coming from and gues what, no leak. Drove down the road a few miles and oil covered everything again. Its going through about a quart sometimes more in a day. anybody have any ideas.

eliminated, the part that I cant figure out is the fact that I ran the car for 8 min. at 2500 rpm and no leaks

Mine was leaking on that side too. It turns out it was the oil pressure regulator. It's the small round thing located just next to the oil filter.

are you positive that its oil and not power steering fluid since it happens when you drive it, turning the wheels maybe causing it, if so check the o-ring on the top line of your pump

No. I go through 1 or more quarts per day.

Did you check the Oil Cooler Bolt? It might be loose. Also maybe the oil pump gasket may be leaking or the oil pump may be cracked, possibly the oil return line? I've had those problems before.

The next time you look under the car, look just next to the oil filter, you'll see the oil pressure regulator. Mine was leaking pretty bad. When I would accelerate it would send the oil back and it would splash on my exhaust. It's cheap to replace.

is it comming from the black at all or accesories? could be a gasket

Check your valve cover for cracks too.

yeah, my brother had the smallest crack ever on his valve cover and it wasn't even noticeable, but throwing on a new one gave great performance back to it.

Valve cover is perfect. Thing I cant figure out is the oil is behind the crank pully, and looks like it is traveling down. I have checked everything I can without a lift. its hard to see under a lowered car. Also I couldnt let the car run too long with the crank pully off. didnt want to overheat.

humm well you might want to try and look at your oil pump once, it could be leaking.

ohh yeah did you get the thing about your head gasket or did you see that it's not comming from the block?

Found the oil leak. Aparently the freeze plug looking cap that blocks the left balance shaft hole is doing the nasty all over my engine.

actually who wver had the car before me put this kit in and screwed it al up. They ground on the sealing surface of the plug. I replaced it and it is still leaking there and still blowing oil all over the back of the block. Im probably just going to pull the oil pump and take it to work and weld a plate over the hole and screw the freeze plug crap.

-I use JB-Weld on the freeze plug when I removed the balance shaft, you might want to try some quick set epoxy instead of removing the front case. my $.02.

Only thing is it doesnt appear to be the only leak, just cant find the other one right now.
