I have a question about running a wideband with dsmlink. I know alot of people are getting away with running the wideband o2 sensor in the o2 housing location. (I realize its not where you are instructed to put it) but if your running link does that avoid a CEL from not having an o2 sensor?

Can someone explain to me how this works? All I can seem to figure out is dsmlink is configured to provide a signal to satisfy the ECU to not throw this code. Am I at all correct in thinking this?

Is it possible to have a lightly to moderately modded car and have no CEL's? Right now my GSX is perfectly running. No CELS of any kind. Sounds dumb but I dont really wanna mess it up. :thumb:

You need to have ECMLink v3 and then enable Narrow Band Simulation (NBS). Doing so the ECU creates the narrow band signal internally so that the ECU can cycle at 14.7 during closed loop operation.

The Innovate LC-1 controller can simulate the narrow band signal itself without the use of ECMLink so NBS can be performed on a stock ECU.

Also, you can turn off CEL checks via ECMlink. Car modifications and CELs are only going to occur if you delete an item that the ECU will check for and then throw a CEL if it's missing. Solenoids when removed will throw a CEL but those checks can be removed to eliminate a the CEL.

Throwing in a 6 bolt without using the stock CAS and CPS will throw a CEL for random misfires when switching to a 1g CAS and not using the Kiggly trigger plate. However, the CEL can be turned off for random misfires. Same goes for other checks.

Just don't be removing things without knowing what they do :thumb:

This is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks so much for your quick reply!
