Being that my car is soon to be on the road, finally did my e85 conversion, I have started to look up which wideband gauge I should purchase. My only requirement would be that it is digital and will last and not crap out.

I have narrowed my products down to glowshift and aem. However, being that glowshift is a good amount cheaper I looked into why it's so. I've heard from some others that the glowshift ones have problems and I was wondering if it is that big of a problem with their product, and if so, should I just go with an aem one?

Also, if there is another reputable brand out there please let me know.
 
I have a one that i run and my dad runs and a friend runs. I have link v2 on my car may dad has v2.5 on his 1g (soon to v3) and a friend who has v3 on his 2g with this wideband and no problems at all what so ever!!! Enjoy 14point7.com
What brand is it?

I have AEM in both my cars. Seeing I haven't logged in 1g yet, but the 2g always was dead on with link and had no problems at all while tuning. It really comes down to what you'll be more comfortable using and what will fit you.
See, I haven't really heard anything "bad" about AEM products.

From my experience if you don't use a buffer on the EGT input on a 1g, In v3 Ecmlink the wideband will not read lower then 11.0:1 in your logs...

Also if you take the time to read the link above you will see there is actually more then just one AEM gauge out there. This becomes especially important if you are going to be using you wideband, to do narrowband simulation since the switching point will be different...

In the long run just get a LC-1, I've used both the the LC-1 has a number of features that the AEM gauges Do Not. First one it has 2 logable outputs... They can be configured to output any desired 0.0v-5.0v signal yes one these will be used up if you have a gauge that you outputting to...

There's a number of these threads of which wideband on here. I'd say take the time to do a search an you will be able to make an informed decision of which one is better with info the has already be provide numerous times... .

I have the AEM UEGO and its great until you start logging with ECMlink. I would get the Innovative LC-1 (it's the same price as the AEM and logs better with ECMlink if you are ever considering that for in the future).

Which LC1 gauge are you guys refering to? Because I only see the xd-16 and DB gauges.

Ok, well they are really hit or miss as far as their logging outputs.. It seams they are getting a little better as peoples logs as of lately have the outputs matching the white papers.

But, their's plenty of cases of people having the voltage output for logging an being of up to as far as one whole ARF point from what the papers say. That one of the reason I stopped using mine an Got a LC-1... .

They more then likely aren't logging via the EGRT Input or have a buffer... . Although as I said above those aren't the only issues wit them not reading correctly.

Either way I'm sure you will be more then happy with the decision you made :thumb:

Just read the link you posted earlier and now im dead set on going with an innovative gauge but I would preferable like to get the xd16
 
With the LC-1, you can change the output on it to work with any WB gauge with an input near 0-5V.

VEI gauges has a gauge that works with the LC-1. So do several other brands.
Meaning that later down the road I could change my gauge while keeping the benefits of the lc1 output?
 
Correct. As long as the gauge you choose has an external unit that sends the signal to the gauge. Not built in like some brands.
Because I think that innvate xd 16 gauge is uber teh sex.
 
I had the innovative lc-1 for 5 years before the sensor gave out, replaced the sensor and it still works to the day.
 
Mine comes sometime next week, and being that I've only heard positive things, I believe I will satisfied.
 
I have a question for all you guys that are running a wideband setup, what did you do to the factory o2 sensor plug, i just installed an autometer setup and now my check engine light is on.Im sure its because i have nothing hooked to the old plug,are you guys splicing the wide band into the old plug or just dealing with the engine light,please pm me the answer if you know it.

I'm using ECMLink v3 so the only o2 sensor I have is the wideband which is in the front o2 location by using narrow band simulation.
 
I run and AEM wideband and have no problems logging with my ecmlink v3. Its up to you what you want to go with. Everyone will have a different opinion. But im new to this thing as well.
