Hey guys, I just got my Zeitronix Wideband and got it installed. But after I hooked it up to my laptop with the supplied software, that's no signal it's not showing or logging anything. I used this guide http://www.vfaq.com/mods/zeitronix_wideband_vfaq.html to complete my install,

ZT-2 thick red wire to pin 12 (Power)
ZT-2 thick black wire to pin 26 (Ground)
ZT-2 green wire to pin 58 (RPM)
ZT-2 gray wire to pin 84 (Throttle Position)

and I double checked everything making sure they're connected. Can anyone give me some input where could be wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Chris.

I see you got your wideband.
Is computer port configured (or selected at that) ?
I'm not closely familiar with that type of wideband, but with some of our logging software, the hardest part was getting searial port configure on the PC itself.

Hey Paul! Yes I got myself a wideband cuz it's better down the road. The computer port is fine as I use it for my datalogger hotsync too. I think it has to be something with the wirings or the faulty unit itself. I still can't figure that out. Thanks anyway for your comment :thumb:

Sorry dude I figured it out it was something silly. I had the Palm Hot Sync manager on all the time and that occupied the serial port. I didn't know about that so after turned it off the laptop can read from the wideband perfectly. Thanks!

sorry to revive a old thread, but its better than starting my own

i just installed the zt2 , all wiring isa complete,i checked everything, i even layed alkl the wiring clean and well hidden..

well, the lcd display from zeitronix is just showing nothing..its backlighted and all,but no value..(nothing is on the screen, its just lit)

i know my sensor and all is hooked up correctly, i even checked the narrowband output signal,it works

my tps and rpm are fine too (thery show on the afc..so)

is it possible that the display itself is not working?

the o2 is getting its power and all too...

please reply.. its tough shipping stuff back to the states so...

ok,just rewired everthing this morning again..the LC display still doesnt work

Good luck. We've been dealing with problems with this POS from day one. Upon initial install, it worked/logged fine for about an hour and then just died. After sending it back to RRE, they promptly told us we didn't buy it from them so they forwarded it back to Zietronix for service (several phone calls of arguing that we, in fact, HAD just bought it from them produced no results. Rather than giving us the benefit of the doubt until a receipt/credit card statement could be produced, they chose to just blow us off  ).

The tech at Zietronix who looked at it insisted that there was nothing wrong with it, went into a speech about how brilliant the guy who designed it was, and blamed our wiring. We insisted that 1.) I'm a 10 year MECP Master tech and i'm pretty sure I can handle their stupid 4 wire hook-up, and 2.) We've double checked all wires with a voltmeter just in case already. We then said to just send it back and we'll try it again.

Upon receiving it back (several months have passed since the initial install by this point), we plug it back in and whaddaknow - it works. Then we notice it's doing the same thing you described. Turn key on, it powers up fine, but start the car and the backlight is on buy no display. If you turn it off and on a couple times it usually fires up. We're also not able to log anything now (this worked fine during the hour that it worked initially). Finally, after driving around on it for a couple days and having the display working correctly, it just started reading 21.0 AFR no matter what. We're pulling the car apart to check all the plugs and stuff tomorrow, and I highly doubt the o2 sensor is bad already, so I'm guessing the thing will be going back in for service again.

Their assistance thus far has been frustrating at best, and I'm beginning to think that our best option is to sell the POS on ebay and pick up something else.

Really? oh shit.. im all the way in germany..i bought this from RRe too..not directly from zeitronix..

My buddy told me to get a LM1 cause another buddy had one.. i knew i should have listened to him !

oh,i still havent gottemn a reply from rre or Zeitronix

Does RRE have a member here on this site? if so,i hope he sees this and helps a fellow dsmer out

im gonna try log again this evening

logging works..just the lcd doesnt,im sending the lcd unit back

I had a similar problem, i do not have an LCD i just run through a laptop. I can do 1 log and when i stop the logger and try and start it again it doesn't work the screen shows but no logging, i found that if i just pull out the port cable to the laptop and click on open again it works. i can pause it during a log and it will start again with the same logging, but if i stop it and try and do a new log without disconnecting the serial port cable it wont work! the logging screen appears but doesn't work! The zeitrinox is great except for that!

I have a problem with the TPS wire when I connect it the TPS goes to 99%. when I disconnect it goes back. Is anyone else having this problem.
