wideband 12v source

I just got my innovate LC-1 wideband. And i was wondering where you guys are tapping for you 12v power source? do you have to put a seperate 5 amp fuse on it? thank you

wouldn't there be a power source that you could tap into on the ECU?

Yea ive been looking in the innovate forums and apparently thats the best spot for it. THen i looked at vfaq for the ecu pinouts.

Ignition Switch would be your best bet for a 12v power source. You might want to check out vfaq.com as well. Lot of information there.

Well if your looking for a constant 12 volts use the white wire off the ignition harness. If your looking for an Accessory that will turn on and off with the car use the Blue with black wire in the ignition harness. I would check both with a meter before you hook up to it. These are the ones I used in my 2G for my stuff. And for something important, i would put a fuse on it just to be safe and make sure you use a good ground

I would think if you pulled some of the voltage from the ecu you may neglect some of the functions of the ecu by dropping the voltage. I used the switched power from my MPI relay. I think it's a white wire with either green/blue/or black stripe. It should be third pin over on the wiring harness that goes to the MPI relay, and there should be nothing plugged in where the #1 pin is.

I went with tapping the cigarette lighter because I'm lazy and it was right there when I tapped the ECU for the WB input. I'm not quite sure what would happen if I were to use the cigarette lighter now that the WBO2 is tapped there, but so far I haven't had any problems.
