Wich intercooler and do i need anything else?

if i have 280 im satesfied, for several reasons

But the most important reason is that in Norway where i live there are about...5 GSX's. We get pulled over....alot.
And they test the engine when they pull u over, you get 1000NOK in fine pr hp over stock hp. 1000NOK = 200$ . So if i get caught with 320hp i would have to pay a fine around 20-25000$ to get my car back.
Just not worth it.

I'll start doing the standard maintenance , timing belt etc and i will hit you guys back on what to do next , open to any suggestions

not to get off topic but that sucks. back to the op i would follow the upgrade paths.. a fmic is not necissary for a while.. but if you really want one

How do they test it?! They take it to a dyno or something?

The cool thing about a turbo is you can drop the boost from in the cabin. Will they pay you if you're less than the rated hp?

The upgrade paths people take are unique, and following the recipes can make you purchase redundant parts when you start making big power.

In your situation, I would invest in an electronic boost controller, and an o2 housing with an external wastegate first. The same setup for the turbo you have will work all the way up to an evo3 16 turbo and even the more wild forced performance turbos.

Most people don't get those two until they are making a lot of power, but they will enable you to drop the boost to LESS than stock at the push of the button. A 6psi spring in the external gate can hold a lot, especially if you get a dual port with an EBC to hold the gate shut. When you see the blue lights behind you, hit a button, and your car will have 150hp.

I've never been in the market for an EBC, but I know punishment makes a nice recirculated gate setup

Both of them are not cheap (together with the 38mm gate probably $1000), but it will allow you to nullify any mods you make in the future, and raise the boost to a safe amount.

Then I'd go exhaust, fuel, logger, and fmic.

If they look under your hood and tag you for non-stock items, I would enjoy your car for what it is. Standard maintenance before any of that though

B16G, Exhaust, Vr-Speed Factory FMIC kit.
Exactly what I have and I have a noticeable difference with power.
Still need a tune and bigger injectors though so add those to the list as well as a AFPR and a 255 Walbro fuel pump.

If you are on the stock T-25 you will actualy HURT performance with a large core. You are better to save your money and invest into a full exhaust system, open element filter and your maintance and repairs.

The t-25 doesn't exactly push much air and the stock side mount cools it off fine. You'll be hard pressed to heat soak the SMIC with the tiny turbo. Even members with Evo 3 16g continue to use the SMIC at times because it still cools down the air charge for a couple hard runs before heat soaking.

With a large core, you will loose air pressure and velocity to the intake manifold. It will create lag and no extra power for you. Sure it looks nice, but you won't gain anything by putting that on now.

Besides, there are cheaper kits out there if you search. Follow the upgrade path and you'll be better off.

REPAINS AND MAINTENANCE FIRST before mods.

Honestly my T-25 spools just a tad slower, but the car pulls WAY harder and along with the catback and intake pipe it helped my car out a TON. Sounds way cool too :D

They put your car on top of these 4 plates , so the wheel sinks in between two pipes of sort, dont know the exact term but. At the bottom are 4 metal plates with detectors in them. Then you have to put the pedal to the metal and if your engine puts ut more Hp than is written in your pinkslip , the police confiscates your car until you can pay the fine , if not it gets sold @ the police auction after a while.

wow you can actually reduce the boost-level with a button? that is just what im looking for =)

everything wich is fun is forbidden in norway, thats the general rule. Skylines, supras , eclipses, rx-7 , playing poker, buying beer after 18.00 , buying liquor after 14.00

So it's essentially a government dyno they throw you on. What you need is a button that will cause the exhaust to completly bypass the turbo so it's not spooling at all.

I got it!:aha: Get a special cutout made to bolt up at the manifold/turbo connection. I think it would need to be a dual valve to completly bypass the turbo but have the one end routed back into the exhaust and hide the button somewhere under the dash. You get pulled over, flip the button to cut out the turbo. Wa Lah, no more forced induction and lower than stock HP :thumb:

Never thought of the day that I would suggest to decreas the power of the 4g63.

So no beer after 6PM and liquor after 2PM? That sucks, you just just move to Amsterdam!

or perhaps an in cabin boost controller.
easy and alot cheaper:D
especially since you will probably have to invest in an mbc anyways

Prob. woud be much cheaper LOL. He would need a large external gate though to bypass most of the exhaust if the boost is turned down very low.

Wonder if you could fab up a switch to retard the timing. Cars run like a sloth with that kind of timing.

looking for a cat-back exhaust with double pipe-openings , only found with a single pipe , are there any?

both openings next to each other, im not talking one exhaust opening on the left side of the car and one on the right

with a little imagination, i have drawn my car seen from behind here ;) :

[OO_________________] <--- like that

[O_________________O] <-- not like that

That's crazy! You'd think that would just make more people drunk before 12:00 wouldn't you?

The magical turbo bypass the people above me are discussing would be the wastegate I linked you to. earlier. This thread is getting very retarded, so I'll send you a PM with some links about how these two things work together to let you lower your boost.

There are some cheaper options too, but they are less effective.

The cheapest and best way to get more power is going to be a cold air intake tubing with a cleanable filter, maintance, and possibly a bigger exhaust. Though I don't know what size tubing on the exhaust though. On maintenance, I mean all fluids, all filters, all hoses, all belts. Replace the BS bearings, or remove the BS entirely ASAP. Also check everything that you can on the tranmission. Hope I helped.

all of the new turbo audi's have a setup like that, it runs normaly to save gas than you hit a button that engages the turbo

Which Audi? That sounds really interesting :hmm: I wonder if all the new turbocharged VW are that way too
