I blew a 2 head gaskets with in 700 miles i dont know why.. Maybe a wrapped or maybe head studs.. I dont know can you guys please help me out

There used to be more companies that made .030 over pistons. Its a common size for Domestic Engines and I never understood why youd couldn't get .030 for dsms by more brands.

Anyways. Here is a tech article that might be a good read concerning why you keep blowing headgasket.

Gimme a sec and I will find a mirror for the above link

Ive torn down one of my stock engines and found .030 over pistons. It said .030 right on top. It was some type of aftermarket "oem-like" piston.

Did you just buy a dsm and the seller told you the engine was rebuilt and listed ".030 over" as a fake performance mod or something? Did you get this engine rebuilt? Or did a previous owner?

And what do you mean "if" it was bored over .030? Is it?

i got the car off a guy that told me .30 over, but i dont know if i can believe that until i look for myself. if the engine is bored .30 over where can i find a head gasket for it, and would the bore size be 85.75mm or something else

Not one person told him that his tuned is probably jacked. Not one guy asked him how he drove that car in the 700 miles that he drove it... He has a 16g and a catback exhaust on most likely 20 psi with IDC's in the 110% range along with a 1g timing map that for some reason has 22* of timing up top. He also stated that he has .030 over sized pistons so I doubt the original builder of the engine used the stock 7.8:1 CR. So it is possibly he is knocking that bad with higher compression pistons along with a turbo that shouldn't be used without proper fuel upgrades.. So why do you keep blowing head gaskets??

Also the 6 bolt head bolts are very strong and have put people to very high boost pressures without issues. I have seen some people beat the shit out of used 6 bolt head bolts with out issues. I doubt a 16g on stock boost would stretch bolts.

Edit: One person asked him for his mods list and that was it.

within the 700 miles i didn't beat i was trying to let it break in... the engine has no knock to it. what would be the proper fuel upgrades for a 16g.... thanks for all of the help guys

just took my head off didnt see any evident cracks or warping... it at my local machine shop. hes doing the whole nine yards checking for cracks warping, and if it is warped he is going to resurface it..... the head gasket didnt have any visible damage

on top of the pistons reads 75 which im assuming is .30 over. my next question is will a stock bore head gasket work, because im not finding any .30 head gaskets

I agree with viperlp01. Just having the timing advanced to far will take out a head gasket in a few runs. Detonation is a bad thing.

I didnt mess with the timing, but i will have it checked when i hopefully get this whole mess worked out. My old man is trying to tell me a stock head gasket will be fine. But ive been trying to tell him it needs to be .30 over or something close

What about a .20 85.5mm or a .40 86mm
