Why can't I swap 98 4g63t into 95 GSX easily?

Bought a 95 GSX at the beginning of summer to have something to wrench on this winter. The time has come and I have to put an engine into it. Found one in a salvage yard from a 98 Turbo FWD. The salvage guys tell me its not a direct swap .. said the 95-early 97 interchange and the later 97-99 interchange. everything I know about these models lead me to believe a 7 bolt is a 7 bolt and I should have no problems swapping it into my 95. Can somebody clear this up for me.

I believe the 93-94's use a 7-bolt block, but still have the 1g intake manifold, head and the better 14b turbo, but I may be mistaken.

I was confused because I thought that the AWD and FWD flywheels were different (which was right)... then a wiseman said I was wrong... so I looked at extreme psi's website and their act xact flywheel says it will fit 95-99 Turbo models or something like that... then someone else said it was right. Hence the confusion. I was quite aware of the 6 bolt / 7 bolt differences... I have both.

you wont have any problems because you have 2 of everything..if some sensor looks diffent,reuse your old one.. easy peasy ,reuse your flywheel, the cas are different (the bolt holes care all there, if necessary switch the intake cam or the whole head)

this isnt as tough as it sounds.

I thought you could get 6 bolts in 94 and 93s?

May of 92 and newer are 7 bolts. 6 bolts were only from 89(90)-92.5 . Hence why the say the best DSM was an early 92, had the 6 bolt crank and the 4 bolt rear end.

Ive been running my plug wires in this order 4-1-2-3, i have a 95. eprom/dsmlink. I hope I havn't been running them the wrong way.

That's right, says it right on the coilpack I believe
