Why 7 bolts need arp's and 6 bolts don't

Self explanitory. People need to see this to realize the 7 bolts will have lift issues and need studs, way before a 6 bolt will.

Thanks for sharing the comparison. I have arp head studs in my 7bolt but never realized the significant difference

from what I understand the 1G head bolts may be resued and are not a TTY bolt and are 12mm in dia
the 2g 7 bolts are a 11mm and TTY and must be changed when pulled

Yes, the 2g are tty and the 1g aren't. Also the shaft of the 1g bolts measures 11.1mm, the shaft of the 2g bolts is about 9.3mm. So even though the 1g's use a 12mm thread, and the 2g's use an 11mm, there is a lot more than a 1mm difference.

It's just size difference as teh 6 bolt will take more power over the 7 bolt studs. You should still change them out with ARP studs regardless for piece of mind and I wouldn't reuse the OEM head studs.
