Well after long hard consideration I have decided to build a 420a and go turbo on the Avenger again. I am new to the forged aftermarket options though.
Mostly I see Wiseco and JE as my options and have been looking for opinions of pros and cons of each. It sounds like the Wisecos are cheaper and less prone to piston slap with cold starting than the JEs. But I am reading that the wisecos have a tendency to crack in the skirt over time and that does not sound good for longevity.
My interest in this project is the long term, it will be a DD though I dont drive it in the winter months. I dont much care about the cold start knocking as long as the motor does not fly apart.
I am used to this engine that I can turn the key and beat the crap out of day in day out and not ever have a problem, as well as my wifes Eclipse GS with 230k miles on it with the only maintainance besides oil changes being the timing belt and components.
I'm wondering what my best option is to get a 300hp motor in that car that does not involve a 4g63 swap, but that I dont have to do anything more than oil changes to maintain it for 100k miles at a time.
So lets hear some ideas or experiences from people that can steer me towards who makes the better pistons
