First of all, I have around 85k miles on my 420a. I was wondering if i were to put a STAR turbo kit--stage 1, on my engine how long will it last before i have to change the internals? I know the stage 1 isn't that great, but the only difference it says, is the fmic. Also, i'll keep the boost at low levels, around like 5-8psi. I just want something that'll boost up my hp significantly, without having to change my internals for a long while...and no, nitrous is not an option. But talking in terms of turbokit...i'll put on the other addons to help the motor run better with a turbo... all the minimal things because i hear that internals are expensive. So...will my car run good for a long while with a turbo before i have to change the internals? Thanks

I guess no one can help me. All i wanted to know was about how many miles i can run on stock internals after installing a turbo kit, without it dying on me. Like 10k miles?
Thanks if anyone can help.

Depends on the current condition of your engine (get a compression check to get an idea). If everything looks healthy and you stay at a proper boost level you will be good to go. There are a bunch of 420a's over on 2gnt who have been using stock internals for more than a couple years with the Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits.

The horror stories you hear of people blowing their motors up is because they didn't stay at their kit manufacturer's recommended boost setting. I know this first hand because I did just that over a year ago, due to me overboosting. However, I was looking for an excuse to build my motor so I shed no tears over it :D

Do not boost past 5 pounds on a Stage 1 kit. Not until you have that Stage 2.

def. do not boost past 5psi with out some type of intercooler. theres not telling how long it could last depends on the fuel. i ran 10psi for a year and a half and 11 -12psi at the track only blew a head gasket until the rebuild.
