I searched and couldnt find anything using these kind of pistons, I got a 420A block with high compression (10.5:1) wiesco NOS pistons, eagle H-Beam rods, if I put a small turbo on there and keep it to a small amount of boost will it just be a bad day or would that work fine?

I believe a couple people on 2gnt are running 10.5:1 pistons and are boosted, someone with more knowledge can definetly chime in more for you though.

10:5 is a bit high for a turbo motor. Drop the compression down a bit.

I wouldn't say blowing that motor as the issue: it's knock you want to worry about.

Once you start getting knock the motor is more prone to detontion. If I were you, I'd get a knock sensor compatible with your current set-up. That way you have some idea of what's going on when you push the car to come extent.

You can blow your engine but you can do that even if you had lower compression pistions in it. "My whole bottom end is forged with 10.5:1. Ive been running 15+psi for over 3 years now. My AFR maps are near perfect, was at about 11.8 at the time of boost. I just put on a ported head with SS valves and Crane springs and retainers. Im using ARP studs with a Mitsu MLS.", DJ420a on 2gnt.com. It can be done and has been, just need to have good tuning method.

With the higher compression, you can acheive more power at lower boost levels as well. Like Slo2gen said, DJ420a has been boosting for years with the higher compression and it has worked out great for him. Tuning the car will be more required for higher compression pistons though to avoid knock like Blitz stated.

thanks for the replys guys, now that Ive seen it can be done now I just have to get a good plan of action!!

P/N ? any tutorials on putting one in also? ;D
Thanks,
Chris.

I know MSnS has the option available as well.

Yes, but where to get the right physical sensor? I've seen a bunch and I'll admit I don't know enough to be sure if they all work with MSnS. I'm planning on MSnS'ing or atleast getting it prepped very soon. Are there specific sensors that work with MSnS or am I, again, behind on the times. LOL

MAperformance needs log into DSMtuners, so I can get my wideband :(.
