Whoops stupid accident while changing my oil

So my neighbor unscrewed my trans fluid instead of my oil so lucky we had a container under it...what we did was pour that trans fluid back into the trans since i didnt have a new trans filter and fluid but im gonna change it this week though just need to get the stuff....

so should i drop just the pan and refill whatever came out or drain eveything? what kind of fluid should i use?

my car is a automatic with 123k miles with moderate mods...the trans is 4yrs old and has a PI - dragon torque converter 3500 stall
black spring shift kit
b&m tranny cooler

the trans fluid is on the blackish side but we didnt see any metals or anything in the container when we dropped it so thats a good sign...all we found was a spider what do u guys think is that ok?

I would NEVER reuse fluid like that. ATF is cheap. If you haven't changed it recently why not do it now? Put the plug back in and pour some new stuff in.

The fluid should be darker if you haven't changed it in awhile.

If theres no shavings, then you dont really have to change the filter. But either way, you might as well change it now.

Right why put off tomarrow what you could get done today, expecially when your half way there .

I would do it while your under there but is not a major deal if you dont, most shops dont even change them any more anyway.
