Easier to take out the whole 02 housing, and yes doudle check it I asked for 1 bar and 1.3 was in there. Clamp it down or have a friend help as it will bend the last allen bolt, cause it a beiotch to do alone and unclamped

and even if you take off the v bands that thing aint coming off

What do you mean, the wastegate will come right off with the clamps removed. IT just butts to flanges together, once removed there is nothing left to hold it.

FML... I'll just take it all out again :ohdamn: Lesson learned guys always double check your stuff before putting back together!!! LOL "trying to make the best out of this"

Really??? I/we tried taking mine off to have the 02 housing ceramic coated, so good luck with that

What else is there to hold it? The clamps squeeze the flanges together to seal up the flange. Without the clamp it isn't attached any more.

What do you mean imagine getting it back in. They aren't made to the o2 housing from the factory. Everyone has to install the wastegate in the first place. I've installed and removed quite a few of these and never had any issues. Pop the clamps off, smack it with a rubber hammer if you have to and it is off.

Figured I'd post this just in case it helps anyone in the future. I recently had to change my springs and didn't want to remove the entire o2 housing to do so. As people above said, removing an MVS wastegate from a PR housing is very difficult, and even though I did it to coat everything, not recommended. I used M4 threaded rod and nuts from McMaster, and some 1/4" tubing to act as a spacer. The pictures are otherwise self-explanatory. I tried a similar idea with zip-ties originally and failed miserably. Although this way took awhile to finish, it was the safest and easiest way I could think of to avoid damaging anything.

I don't know if I'll have the space to attempt this in my car but I am going to take a look, I've been wanting to add another spring so I don't have to use a MBC AND the wastegate springs. Thank you very much for posting that.

It's funny you revived this post as I am currently in the same predicament. Not that I didn't know what my spring pressure was but rather that I need to change it. It's a PITA to do it on the car. I don't know why but your MVS is pointed in a slightly different direction than mine. Mine's pointing straight into the alternator and I cannot open it as some of the bolts are out of line of sight and it's part of the body is pointing into the live power wire of the alternator.
