Haha... I just walked outside, and I was admiring my newly acquired 5-speed 1992 TSi's engine, when I looked at the side of the compressor housing in horror, and realized it says TD04.

D'OHHHH!!!!!

Can't believe I didn't notice that before.

So, just to make sure I didn't get taken too badly, blue top injectors are 450's, right? I just want to make sure I didn't end up with 390's with my massive 13G turbo.

I won't even tell you how carefully I was looking at this thing.... I compression tested the engine, smelled the oil for gas, made sure it was a 6-bolt... I even LOOKED straight at the compressor housing, and READ TD04, it just didn't register in my head because I was in a hurry. Stupid me.

Anyway, searching, everyone has said blue top injectors are 450s, but can anyone just confirm this so I don't freak out?

haha thats funny... Ive dont that vefore too (looked at something on a car and have it not register). YES blue-top = 450cc's....get a 16g and enjoy the new ride. Good luck

blue tops are 450's? i got 2 on my engine that are blue the other 2 are black..... whats with that?

turbo being a 13g or a 14b would be the least of my conserns when buying a used car.

just get some use outta that 13g (better than t25) or get a 14b for like 50 bucks.

Yeah... I'm gonna swap my 14b from my 1990 onto my 1992, methinks, and put the 13G on the 90. I figure I might as well put the slightly bigger turbo on the car with the 4-bolt.

But yeah, the 13G turbo isn't all that pissed me off about the car yesterday - I removed the upper headshield, and I found out that what I thought I heard as a boost leak is actually exhaust venting out of my "atmospheric dump" - a crack in the exhaust manifold about an inch and a half long! I'll have to post pics soon...........

So, looks like I'll be swapping my exhaust mani and the turbo this weekend, and then I'll be looking for a 2G mani so I can put the 1G mani back on the 90.... <sigh>

Anywho, I'm from Colorado Springs, CO.

Black top injectors are NT injectors, 240cc. Get those off there ASAP!!!

Are you sure you're not looking at the connector? The color of the injector we're referring to is the area under the connector.....

When I went to buy my eclipse, i had thought it was a DOHC, but it was a freakin 1.8!!!!!!!!

I didnt even know that the 1.8 existed, and I didnt have much knowledge of DSM's at the time, my friend had the n/t DOHC, so I assumed it was the same engine, even though it looked different

what a rude awakening it was when i looked at it a day later and realized it was a SOHC, it was even worse when i found out it had freakin 92 horses!!!!!

oh well, at least its reliable, no mystery tick for me!
