Dude Dr. T, this is a sick car. Let these guys whine and piss all they want, but in the end there just jealous that they cant build a car as nasty as yoursROFL Cant wait to see some more pics!

Here's a friendly reminder to all the people riding his nutsack and blowing him like a hooker on 42nd and 5th.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/site-problems/162716-why-dont-we-have-kills.html

And to those that think I'm jealous, I'm not. I be jealous if I had no reason to bash the man. No jealousy is reserved for the people that deserve it. I'm jealous of Shep's car. I'm jealous of Rau's car. I'm jealous of Kiggly's car. I'm jealous of quite a few people's cars here. Yes, I daresay I'm jealous of Lofty cause he has a nice NT. But to say I'm jealous of this tool? Absolute blasphemy. I seen better work. In person. Btw, for those who know me or seen my car, I personally have stopped caring for it to be looking good or going fast. So really, what am I jealous of? Am I really jealous of the people I just mentioned? Or am I just substituting admiration for jealousy?

Look past the shiny pictures. This thread is nothing but him telling the world how awesome he is.

ROFL

Nice build. Mixed feelings about the "street racing" I wont say I haven't done it. I always tell people to take it to the track, but when conditions are just right and the other car is something quicker than a honda... it is tempting.

Anyway enough of that crap, back on topic.

Honestly its not like your doing anything crazy or anything new. Many many dsmer's have done the same types of things as you. I took it as a given if you have enough experience with dsm's to take on projects like you have. I personally don't think its that special unless you have drag times, race track times to back up your builds. It would be nice to see how your "experience" and "knowledge" has impacted or improved our community.

Not trying to hate, its a nice story... And shouldn't this be in blogs?
Either way keep up the good work! We all love dsm's, even though they piss us off sometime! LOL

Welding is an art it takes years to master, $ 1000s in equipment, and the welds always look better from a pro than a DIYer. This car has to look good so pro welding is the only answer.

This is the smartest thing I have ever heard! I hate how many guys are buying these made "simple" TIG machines and trying to learn how to weld. It takes years of practice (every day for hours) and most professional welders that specialize in TIG welding spend close to $6,000-$10,000 on a single good machine.

The manifold idea is very clever, :thumb: I have been kicking around a design that uses variable runners with a larger plenum to support the higher flow. I was thinking of trying to have the second runners activated like the secondaries on a carb. though, being mechanically controlled (Closed on part throttle/Open on full throttle). It would be fully fabricated though, but using the stock Cyclone runners/Plenum is a really good idea. I do have a few problems with the runners being opened with a waste gate though, Although the waste gate will keep the secondaries closed at low RPM's and low load it still does not control the amount of air entering the engine just the pressure.

JUST STAY ON THE TOPIC, STOP FLAMING

Yeah but not everyone can afford a really nice welder, and its not like everyone is going to keep up welding or make it into a hobby. And practice is practice, we all have to start somewhere. I am by no means a good welder but I have done a couple welds. And for a entry welder I think a "simple" tig machine would be good to see if you enjoy welding or not. Then you can upgrade later. Thats just my opinion and of course a simple tig machine and a diy person wont be able to weld as good as a pro.

More of the story please

This thread rubbed me the wrong way. I don't care what the O.P. says, he's full of himself and wanted to make sure we knew how amazing he is. I'm not trying to hate, just my 0.2 cents.

Dr. Turbo you are the l33test son of a dsmer ever. Fo' reals a different turbo set up! NO way!

How nice is this, he just nominated himself and this article to be put on the front page of DSMTuners!
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/han...d-member-suggestion-thread.html#post151931923

Yeah after seeing that I kinda feel he thinks a little highly of himself, you should learn to be more modest Dr. Turbo ;) I did like his this thread though, even if crimsondragon flamed all over it, I have never seen that guy make one positive response to someones thread  a bit of a pessimist I guess

I'm not full of myself, I just wanted to tell a story about me and then conclude it with a build thread. My plan was to see the reaction I got and then go from there... after a couple of days now all I have seen is negative things and that I am full of my self becuase I want to share something I believe is special with the community. Since then quite a few of you have been so busy tearing me down I have lost the inspiration to even tell you now. What an outstanding group of people you are:applause: You have called me names, even made fun of my mother, said I'm full of my self and you didn't even see what I have done. The best threads on this site are build threads and I thought I had a good one, welp you guys win... I don't see the reason for going any further. :toobad: So those who hated on me don't say ever you didn't contribute to the site, you helped kill a build thread.

Later Dr Turbo

Do you really care what others think? Half the negative comments were from one person anyway. I bet there are lots of people here that really wanna see you finish your build thread, and I'm one of them. I just told ya to be a little more modest because you wanted to nominate yourself as Featured Member, you should try to convince other people to do that for you, it makes it all the more convincing that you deserve it.

It was a good thread..... Just my two cents. Told a good story and shared your experiences with us . I did not see any boasting only your insight and experience with what you have done. IDK I dont see any thing to flame really, I frown upon your lack of judgment that resulted in you getting your head blasted and your car wasted. But if i said you are the only one i would be a liar because thats just not the case. I am just glad you are sitting in good health and able to tell us about what happened to you. If anything the avg person to look at that will maybe think twice before going out doing stupid sh^t you know you should not be doing on public roads and maybe getting killed or worse killing innocent people. keep up the good work otherwise. I sent you a pm about my opinion on this thread and your actions.

Hard to believe this thread is still open really. No matter what you may have done in the past or in other posts, this thread wasn't about it until others clogged the thread with BS. More immaturity in this thread than I've seen in the past 7 years here. Hopefully you'll finish, but if not I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Highboost I have alot of respect for you and what ya do. Keep up the good work and don't let the haters bring you down..Hopefully street racing is a thing of the past and some people dwell on the past. So keep up the build and let us know how it turns out.

Don't sweat the haters man. 90% or more of us on here have street raced at some point in time but alot of people aren't man enough to say that. You do contradict yourself in certain situations but at the end of the day you did have some pretty good projects that turned out great. The best thing to do is just compile what you've posted so far and make it into a blog and finish it.

I say that Highboost has earned some respect from me as far as having some very clean dsms and having experience with them.
But he has been extremely disrespectful to other members on numerous posts in the past. Some of which has been deleted and you may never see, but some of the trash talking i've heard from him was pretty uncalled for.

Heres where I first learned "Who Dr. Turbo is"
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/project-build-logs/328941-richards-1ga-2.html
Great first impression:D
This is how he acts on other peoples similar threads

All-
I have had my issues with Highboost in the past, and we'll likely never get along, but this is one of the better "who am I" posts I've seen on this site, and it was derailed far too soon. I think what he did here is a good thing for the people who seek motivation, some history, etc.

Now, if he could just behave on the rest of our fine corner of the Web and drop all the non-track racing talk...

You guys didn't really think I was going to give up did you?? I wouldn't even be a man if I let those guys keep me down... on with the story.

I 'm pretty sure this is my favorite mod on the car. I have owned at least 10 different stereo setups in a 1g and this one is by far my favorite. I wanted to dump some stereo weight and at the same time not mess with the integrity of the current system.. I had been running the factory dash speakers, power base 6 ½ in the doors, Kenwood 6X9s, a very old Sony 850 head unit, an Alpine V12 amp, and a 10” JL in a very small enclosure about .45 cu ft.

The first thing was to get rid of the 6X9s and the brackets but that is a lot of the sound that I just deleted and door speakers don't put out crap especially on the drivers side where the driver's leg is blocking the sound, also the car is loud as all get out so I needed sound close to my head. I had experimented with hanging some speakers from the roof behind the seats but that just wasn't real practical. So I looked at what Fieros and Miatas do..put them in the head rest.... was it possible? Yes it just might, so I very carefully started to rape my perfect 93 gray cloth Eclipse seats, and with careful surgery I was able to get them to fit.

So after that I went and bought some quality stuff and got some 6.5” Infinitis. Now I know some of you are thinking yea but the “left/right” bias is going to be way off, and to be honest that was a very big concern of mine before I started, but I couldn't have been more wrong, there is no bias difference what so ever. In fact with the sound is right there no matter which direction you turn your head the noise is always there. Objective = success weight is gone, sound quality improved, and the mod is super sweet. I kept my Alpine V-12 amp and built a proper box of 1cu ft for my JL 10” and the car sounds amazing. From outside it doesn't sound like anything, but inside it screams. For a head unit my beautiful wife bought for my birthday one year a 6.5” Dual touch screen.... the one I exactly wanted. It was my favorite touch screen that I have ever used, it was designed just like the way I would have designed it, was like they had me in mind, that is so rare. A second TV was added to the glove box.. since I had an old LCD screen laying around. That's pretty much it for AV equipment in the car. Oh yea I went ahead and added some Corbeau double release harnesses at the same time, the double release means they can be unclicked like a normal seat belt from behind the seat so if you want to tilt the seat all the way forward you still can, super sweet.
