Langley,
Had my timing and balance belt replaced today along with a new tensioner and water pump. Anyways, on the drive home I could hear a whining sound, not loud, but noticeable that didn't seem to be there before. Anyone know what it could be? New stuff "breaking-in"? Belt too tight?

Also, I have an open intake with K&N Filter, but I don't think that is the problem.

Same thing happened with me. My belt ended up being to tight. I thought it was funny though cuz it sounded kind of like a supercharger whine. I told some kid after i raced him that I had a turbo/supercharger set up. He was like "wow, no wonder you beat me"

it will result in premature failure but its not like your t-belt will explode anytime soon. I would give it a week or so, the belt may just need to stretch a little.
