420A Whine coming from passenger side of engine

A few days ago I started having this whining noise coming from the left side of the engine. I thought maybe it was just the tensioner, but tonight I did a tensioner delete with a smaller belt, a mod I had to do a while back when the bolt broke, and still had the noise. Alternator is only 2 years old, and the sound appears to be closer than the alternator anyways. I also just removed the belt all together, running no accessories, and it still is there. I don't know much about what all is on this side of the engine, so all I can think of is the water pump. I've never had the timing belt cover off, the belt and pump should have been replaced around 30,000 miles ago, if my memory serves me correctly.

Car seems to be running fine, gets up to temp. The sound does seem to dissipate after the engine warms up. Could it be air in the system? I know I have some seepage around the t-stat housing.

Trust me, you don't want to go too tight on the belt....don't ask me how I know...
 
I went through about 6 belts in two weeks from going either too tight or not tight enough until I manged to figure out the correct tension. But if it's the bearing you might be able to get away with just ripping out the old one and throwing a new one in its place for like 3-5 dollars if i remember correctly. I don't know the exact process but I read about a guy here on the forums who did it. One thing I will say tho if you decide to just try and replace the pulleys instead.... STAY AWAY FROM UNDERDRIVE PULLIES ON THESE CARS. Seriously, they're not worth the risk factor and can cause some serious catastrophic failure to our engines
 
If you do happen to go with full pulley replacement tho, I would love to know where you get your parts from as I wouldn't mind replacing mine as well for preventative maintenance while I'm rebuilding my motor...already gotta find an ac tensioner pulley as i snapped the bolt....downright impossible to find for a 1g so far
 
I'm not gonna lie tho, I thought you posted a link for a gates racing alternator belt and I was about to get all excited :(

I would love to find one of those as well as the power steering belt and ac belt if they happened to exist. I have seen the alternator belt link floating around before tho!!!
 
Rock auto sells the gates kevlar blue alt/PS/ac belts fairly cheap.

Also, the OP said he removed the accessory belt entirely and it still made noise. It's been so damn long since I've worked on a Chrysler motor I honestly can't remember how many belts there are.
If the belts are off, and the timing belt/wp is at least 30k overdue that's probably where the problem lies
 
Unfortunately, the video didn't play for me but I had a bad squealing on my passenger side. Water pump seized, shredded the timing belt, before I could get it shut down, bent valves.
