I bought a 2g talon with not engine or tanny. Im ordering a jdm engine and tranny assembly, i am new to theses cars so any advice is greatly appreciated. I have had my share of cars, truck, rock crawlers, drag racers, etc. so im not new to cars, just new to turbo engines. before i put the engine in i have a few things i would like to do but what else do you think i should do before the install?

balance shaft eliminator kit
new clutch, preferably a higher performance then stock just havent chose one yet
all new belts and hoses, coolant, intake, intercooler etc.
spark plugs and wires

Anything else that would be easier to do with the motor out already?

I am looking to make this car a daily driver but once i get a little more knoledge of these motors i will start tinkering with it for more power. but that will be down the road.

7 or 6 bolt motor. if 6 you need to modify the 7 bolt mount at the timing belt side. i would say work on getting it running. you dont want to run into problems. its smart to change the t belt and do a bse. i bought my jdm motor and had a broken bs belt.

Fuel Filter is a royal pain with the tranny in and a water pump cause they are cheap and I'm assuming ## doing a timing belt job to... Tensioner and and pulleys...
